This would get people watching F1

I second that as I was made mod 'overnight' without asking . The only major trouble we have had is that LewisWDC/Silverfox/King_Alonso guy. the rest has been petty arguments that can be seen in jest. If it gets out of hand then I will act but I dont want to have to be a cresh worker here.

I quite like qualifying the way it is, though 2003 was awesome. 1 lap. 1 chance. Championship order. Go for it.

Not at all - you would still have to ensure your car was setup well for the race, not a 1 lap wonder.

 

Worst Qualifiers get to the front would result in this:

'OH AND IT'S HAMILTON, GOT A 15:32:47 THERE, OH BUT HERE COMES BUTTON... WITH... A 16:01:53!!!!!

 

I am hoping also that this will all improve sooner than later,
1 guy goes around saying he will ban members over a race weekend as though it is the only forum on F1 around and without it you will actually miss the race itself, sounds strange on a site that should be trying to get as many active posters as possible in over the race weekend.
Sometimes it seems like everyone is a moderator on here
A couple of them like Bls and Ag seem impartial and professional though

Back to the OP, I can't see that idea making F1 more popular, already the NASCAR drivers are apparently making jokes about F1 and it's gadgets and overtaking ideas

My idea is this;
Have 2 races, one sprint, say 20 laps on Saturday instead of qualifying, places determine the grid for Sundays main race, points for both. Single lap quali for Saturdays race before the race. I sent an email about this to FIA already

imagin the F1 game. leave your xbox on, make a cup of tea, pop to the shop, comeback and navagate through corner 1, do some chores....

 

That would be an improvement on my last quali on F1. Binning it on the last corner.... of the outlap

 

I've only got F1 06 on psp (nice and old school), my worst quali attempt involved leaving it late in Q1, and then promptly taking the wheel off exiting the pits at Sao Paulo. Still won the race though!
