I hope United get Madrid/Dortmund in the knock out stages. They would get destroyed by both of them.

Nigel should cancel his plans for training tomorrow and sit the whole side in front of a tv to watch that amazing defensive performance by Celtic. They defended from the front, tackled and blocked as if their lives depended on it, and stuck to the task until the final whistle! Barca were not bad on the night, but Celtic REFUSED TO BE BEATEN.

definitely. if only we had the same team spirit

Well, I imagine it's much easier to summon resilience and team spirit when you're playing the greatest team in the world at home in the Champions League in front of sixty thousand than it is when you're newly promoted, bottom of the league and have conceded a record number of goals.

Brilliant performnce from them and what an atmosphere. If we can produce a tenth of that on Saturday we will put the skids under the Swans!

Spanish sports newspaper AS describes Celtic's tactics in their 2-1 win over Barcelona a "steamroller placed on the pitch to destroy any opposing intention to raise the tone of the game."

Well they're not bitter at all are they! <laugh>

I think that Nigel said after Mondays game that he plans to defend from the front.. so we shall see

Didn't know where to put this, but 'James Ward-Prowse, Calum Chambers and Jack Stephens have withdrawn from England Under-19s' friendly against Finland next week.' I wonder why!?

Fact is Celtic still managed to score twice with almost no possession. Barcelona crying again. Hopefully Nigel watched. Celtic swallowed their pride and parked the bus completely even though they were at home. I could imagine us trying to take Barcelona on with passing football and Ramirez, Rodriguez, Lambert and Lallana all on the pitch! God knows what the score would end up being.

A bit late, but I'd like to point out that one of the reasons Celtic did really well at defending was because the midfield worked really hard by getting into the opponent's faces, pressuring barcelona and not allowing them to play. They also stayed on their feet most of the time-the goal Celtic did concede involved a Celtic player committing themself and creating space for Barcelona. Shows how one little error against the big teams gets punished upon.

Antonio laid on the cross for an equaliser 1 1 Madine, who replays show, was offside! Goal given, now if we had a few decisions like that.........
