This weekends FA Cup matches thread

The ball was still ending up at Trotta's feet, though. No need to blow the whistle instantaneously, can call them back if it fizzles.

I agree with that but some people will say that Brentford have had a fair goal chalked off, which is bullshit.

Oh, the whistle clearly blew beforehand, and Chelsea stopped. I was just surprised that he blew it dead without seeing what the result would be.

I have to say that Brentford are looking very good on the counter attack. Chelsea will have to be careful.

Yes I agree. I think I worded my first post badly. The referee should have waited for a few seconds. And that's half time. Well done Brentford.

Actually looking at the free kick incident again I think that could well have been a goal had the referee played the advantage.

Dean would have the makings of a fairly solid centerback, if not for his tendency to undertake rash gambles that leave him fifteen yards out of place.

"Almost concussed a wee bit." No 'almost' or 'wee' about it, he got a concussion out of that. Ugly challenge.

He looks fine to me, laughing with team mates on the bench there. Not to take anything away from the fact it was a disgraceful act by Luiz of course.

What annoys me most is that there was no need for it whatsoever. Chelsea are 4-0 up, going to win easily and Luiz still clobbers him.

His equilibrium was clearly off when he tried to get to his feet initially, and he looked pretty glassy-eyed. Would be surprised if he doesn't have a mild concussion.
