Oh, when I saw the thread title I actually thought this was going to be a thread on our goals for next season. <laugh>

Brought it all back. It was always going to be a nice compilation, but I liked the way it was done, e.g. the declaring the scorers totals for the season while each scored his first. Even the music was reasonably well chosen, as it partnered the action without dominating it.

We scored 6 >80min goals:

Lambert (pen) v Villa H
Fonte v Fulham H
Ferdinand OG v QPR A
Lambert (pen) v Fulham A
Schneiderlin v Wigan A
Rodriguez v Liverpool H

There's a real contrast between the Adkins and Pochettino eras in terms of the style of the goals. Early in the season most of them seem to have come from deep crosses for Lambert to head in or knock down for someone else, like many of our championship season goals, but in the second half there aren't any of those, but there are more intricate passing moves. I don't know if this is a deliberate change but looking at the lack of quality of crossing recently it's quite surprising to be reminded of how many goals we used to score from them.

Also, though there are a few real quality goals in there, it's sort of nice, considering how many goals we seem to have conceded through defensive cock-ups, to see that we have benefitted from quite a few scrappy goals too.

Hey didn't Puncheon score in the 84th minute once?

The only thing it needed was a Gareth Berry close-up and "one league goal for Saints" caption.

Doesn't matter how often you see that Barry goal, you will never understand what he was trying to do.

He had been nobbled every time he touched the ball for the whole match, at that point the only thought in his head was that he had to get rid before he was closed down. Rarely does the pressing game work quite so well!

Betting scam!

I hadn't seen a fair few of the away goals before as I generally cannot bring myself to watch the highlights when we lose :emoticon-0106-cryin, so it was nice to see them without the misery of having to see the opposition goals at the same time.

I'd forgotten how much I loved Lallana's goal against Reading, awesome flick, brilliant 1-2 and the perfect finish to cap it.

Hands up who had forgotten Fox had scored a goal!

Fox scored more goals this season than he did last season, yet he's been criticised loads this season but was seen as good last season. I don't get some people...!

I don't think his attacking prowess has been the primary concern....

Although this has reminded me of when Fox and Lallana were on Soccer AM and they showed a montage of Fox smashing them in from all over the pitch. Adam turned around to Fox in genuine amazement, as if to say "why haven't I ever seen you do that!"

Yes I saw that. Fox is good at set pieces but he struggles defensively which puts huge pressure on the CB's. Need more back up for Luke next season.
