Agree with this. Yo-yo status is better than staying in the Championship.

This team has such massive potentialy it would be devestating if we missed out this season and then started losing players in the summer. We should be aiming to achieve the most we can as soon as possible, that's how the likes of Norwich achieved success.

Plus, this league is ****ing horrible. Full of ****e teams like Derby and Watford who will just play 11 defenders. In the PL everyone plays football. And the refs in the PL, whilst still not perfect, actually have some testicles and make decisions rather than just letting the players run games like they do in this league (yes I'm looking at you Jimmy Kebe).

Let's rephrase the OP for morons like yourself:

Weighing up the pros and cons of promotion this season, and the pros and cons of promotion next season, which would overall benefit the club most?

If that's not simple enough for you then I give up.

definately this season, dont see how waiting would help in all honesty, there may not be a strong favourite like west ham, but if anything the league gets harder and more even every year, get it out of it while you can!
plus as mentioned, some of young players would probably be sold if premiership teams came circling in he summer.
things would be run properly if we got promoted this time, wed have a go at the premiership with a young hungry improving squad and if we did get relegated , we wouldnt be in a financial mess then we can try and build again for another crack.

Tis a good question. On one hand I believe we would have a better chance staying up if we went up next season when the squad has matured a little. On the other hand, if we dont go up this season will the squad be here to mature? I personally want promotion this season, then win the premiership next season and champions league season after that. I know I'm dreaming but thats the point of being a fan. Seriously though, go up this season just to hold onto our starlets and see what they can do up there.

Party Hull is usually a decent poster so I don't know what's gone here.

If I knew how to insert links on my I phone I'd insert the scene from The Green Mile where John Cofee tells Tom Hanks' character that he's just dog tired of it all, that he's had enough.

That's how feel about all this bitching and in fighting.

We go up this season..We may well get hammered 3-0 the majority of games but......We tie our youngsters and korens willingly to long contracts and have the sky millions in the bank...We dont go up this season and we WILL lose Stewart,Koren and the Chester to "bigger"clubs in sept and may well not see a chance like we have currently to go up like we do now for decades. So yes call me an idiot but still a silly question as your banking on strengthening the team for next season not the actual reality of us been weaker.

There,s not a this season or next season, Every season is the time to go up. It dosent matter whether wer,e ready or not, promotion is the winning line. We play each season to hopefully cross it.

Cheers Kempton and J-D but it's water off a duck's back as far as I'm concerned. For every ten decent posters on here there's one idiot.
Anyway I agree with the majority who think we're in good hands with Barmby whatever happens.
This club is really starting to bond since Pearson left and that spirit alone will make us a force to be reckoned with whichever division we're in.

Not wumming, just think it's a pointless thread.

I'll be nicer in future I guess, but I reserve the right to this opinion and to be exasperated by the irrelevance of it.

Don't usually post on threads I think are pointless, I'll go back to that.

I agree with most of this, the question really is; are we good enough to go up? For me the answer is NO, we're too easily beaten owing to lack of attacking threat ! End of, unless something magical happens to fryatt, McLean and Simmo.

Are we good enough to go up?...hell no!... but 270 mins on form in play offs and where there!.under the Allams shrewd handling of the sky millions(christ theyll be outta work in melton!)and NBs potential passion guided sheer (cmon ull!)approach,we could just could be the next Bolton!.no matter what the plans or financial clout we throw at next season..it still takes luck to have the likes of stewart, koren and chester etc firing on all cylinders like we have now.we just need the goals now to push us up like campbell did..so no pressure josh but the season really has been banked on you!

we will only go up if we our strike force scores regularly. if and when that happens i will be happy for us to go up. if it doesn't happen we won't go up anyway.
