Personally I don't give a flying f**k. I'm sick of all this " don't upset this minority, don't upset that minority" BULLSHIT. If I'm in the minority, well who cares.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...wice-bad-Luis-Suarez-John-Terry-episodes.html A good article on this subject.
Let's be honest, you wouldn't be politically-influenced by some sulky turd with an upside-down head would you?
Considering your signature, I'm surprised you're not more vocal in your opposition to this. Just kidding, I'm not surprised you're not opposed to this at all.
You're right (for once) - I really don't give a **** about the Middle East. I just wish everyone else would stop pretending they do.
The Anelka issue's sort of topical and football related, middle east politics will just get the thread closed.
Right- can I just say that the PL thrives on this crap? Every day a new scandal/ sensation.....nowt to do with skill or talent, just muckraking, character-assassination, storm in a teacup nonsense. Tomorrow: Ricardo Fuller's nights of passion with Abby Clancey while Peter Crouch played with his trainset.
I must admit when I saw that Anelka had scored finally his first goal for WBA I said to myself 'kinell
In most areas of life I'm all for free speech - but when it comes to Holocaust deniers it's just so inflammatory (as well as being totally mental) that I believe the laws against it are bang on.
I think i saw some Fulham defenders doing the 'kin ell' as Stockdale retrieved the ball out of the net for the sixth time on Saturday !
You've only just found out about Dieudonné two days ago and yet you've figured it all out? First time I saw dieudonné on Tv was 15 years ago... maybe you should keep your bigot views to yourselves and not try and justify them through something you know nothing about. He hides behind 2nd degree humour and denial. 10 years ago, he was a strong socialist with left wing speeches. When he started changing, he was seen as a mere idiot trying to make some noise in the papers with ridiculous statements but now he is seen as a symbol of the right wing party (yes despite being black himself) and is a supporter of Iran's Ahmadinejad. in 2005 he offered himself as presidential candidate... He has supported and been supported by a massive list of well known negationists, extreme right and left wingers, Hezbollah and so on... Here are some of the things he said: Since the black man, in the collective subconscious, carries all the pain and suffering, the jewish lobbyism can't stand it because it's normally their business! Now, all you need to do is roll up your sleeve to reveal your number (concentration camp ID) to be given all the recognition and pity. For me, Jews are a cult and a scam. And it's one of the worst ones as it is the first one. The question is not "How many since" but how many before. Celebrities and footballers are doing it more and more. It's propagating. Tony Parker did it 3 yeara go Nasri did it a few months ago Sakho's done it with Dieudonné. there are tons of picture on google of people in the media, on tv and so on doing it. All of them deny that it is Anti-semitic despite the fact its creator is a well known anti-semite. Maybe some have bought into his bull**** and believe it is "anti-system" but I highly doubt it. I highly doubt that thick footballers, earning millions each year would even know what the "system" is. They don't fit the profile. Anti-system folk don't buy Lamborghinis and Rolexes... No one took Dieudonné very seriously. As I said he was very popular and liked by many. This clearly helped him influence friends and fans. While Anelka's gesture seems like nothing at all, to me it shows it is spreading and footballers are idols to kids and can influence a lot of people who most likely understand nothing about it. I don't get involved in the conflict between the two sides but my point is Dieudonné is showing all the signs of someone who is secretly growing in popularity and hiding his true intentions. He is dangerous. I don't care if he has a point or not. Extremism in any shape or form is dangerous. It's ****ing scary to see kids make a sign they don't understand at all, when it has such ****ed up connotations. Either way It has no place on the pitch and personally I hope the FA take strong action and the English media don't downplay it. The bullshit explanation behind the significance of the sign is as ridiculous as Paolo Di Canio claiming he is a fascist but not a racist.
{Wearily} So how many more members since Anelka did the gesture? Link pls. Is there a causal link between goal celebrations and the activities they trigger? Are a lot more people kissing their wrist since Luisito started scoring so many? Have attendances at churches rocketed since Frank Lampard started pointing to Heaven when he scores?
People can deny it if they wish. However they are plain wrong. I believe in free speech but I also believe in my right to disapprove. Hitler was quoted as saying "Who remembers the Armenians?" when planning to go ahead with his final solution. The World Powers at that time (1915) have a lot to answer for, they received telegrams from the US embassy in Istanbul about what was happening in Turkey (Ottoman Empire) at the time and ignored it. There is documentary diplomatic proof of this. A bizzare irony was that Turkey was the country that did the most to liberate and save Jews from France during the "Rafle" by the Vichy Government. Making "La Quenelle" gestures is akin to siding with anti-semites, racists and Nazis. No thank you Mr Anelka, No thank you Mr Dieudonné.
Could the fact that they were all being invaded/fighting like **** at the time have something to do with the fact that it was not top of their 'to do' list?
For Britain & France, yes most probably however the New York Times published 140+ articles on the attrocities being committed in Turkey so America knew what was happening and they were the ones with military might. Yet they remained bystanders. The sceptical view is that President Wilson didn't wish to jeopardize his sales of armaments to Germany. Remember the USA didn't join the war until 1917 and by asking the Germans to pester their allies or intervene themselves would have stopped the gravy train. The Russians had supplied the Armenians with weapons and urged them to revolt, promising support but they were weighed down by attacks on the Eastern front and never defended the Armenians. Turkey saw them as traitors and the tragedy unfurled...
