Its 5 minutes to go at the JJD sports arena colliery welfare ground and the score is Toon 1 - 1 SAFC.

Owen has been brought on to liven up the Black Cat's attack.

Corner swung in by Seb. Watson can only head it to the penalty spot..........................

Michael Owen hits the ball crisply through the melee!

    Its in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be worth getting Owen

Not for me, apart from his footballing skills, pace, finishing, fitness all going down hill. I honestly think his main attraction is the horses and football is becoming his hobby where he earns a bit on the side.

He's a born goal scorer, he virtually guarantees goals, he's not all about pace he has that knack of being in the right place at the right time, not many players have that.
Again in an interview last week, he said he doesn't need the money he just wants to play football in the premiership.
    Go get him MON.

He will go back to Liverpool, if anywhere. IMO.

Agreed - Liverpool have left themselves short of striking options (first time scousers have been short of anyone for a strike...................) - he'll go there or somewhere else more convenient for his NW base.

Heres a thing then, I bet if he went to Liverpool it would be accepted by many of us here but a lot of those posters dont think he is good enough for us?

    I find that interesting.

I think it would be a backward step for Liverpool which would cause a lot of uproar among their fans..

Owen is looking for a 2 year deal and £80k pw

The only club despirate enough to pay that at the moment is Liverpool and none of their supporters want him now as he is unclean after playing for Man U

Newcastle fan here, you guys would do better than get Owen. That guy is clearly past it, he's been that way for the past 3 or so years already. Getting him would be a mistake, he really offers your team nothing if you take away his once-in-a-while goals.

No. He took the mags' money happily enough after getting injured for England, but didn't give them a backward glance when his contract was up. Can't help but feel we'd just be a final payday.
