    I've had to have another operation during the pandemic mate. So Ifollow by pure default of fate of the pandemic is a godsend for me, as I wouldn't be able to attend games. I'm now waiting to go back in again. So you'll have to excuse my banter, it helps keep my dignity intact. <ok>

    Don't let the B.stewards grind you down.
    Medway Maritime have got so many parts of me in jars, I now have to use their address as my place of residence.

    Seems to me it would be best just to let the club decide whether to allow spectators, if they're given the option, which is in any case looking increasingly unlikely at the moment. They're the best ones to decide whether it would be financially beneficial. And keep in mind they'll be picking up some income from non-STHs for the streaming - not from me yet, but that's another matter.

    As nearly all the games I get to are away games I don't think it's very likely that I'd be allowed into a game this season anyway, and given that even if spectators (let alone away spectators) are allowed in, the almost certain necessity for (anti-)social distancing would deprive me of one of the greatest pleasures of going to a match, which is actually interacting with the friends I go with. As has been commented on many times, it's not the actual game that's important, it's the social aspect that goes along with the game. I mean, there's really no point in going and watching (mostly at best) mediocre football in (usually) less than pleasant climatic conditions unless there's a few pints and a decent bit of banter, is there?

    NO! THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN !
    I make no apology for 'cross-referencing' this thread with that of the one involving the '' transformation of the EPL'',,, because, whatever DOES happen, we must make sure that what DOESN'T happen is Liverpool, Man Utd or any of the other EPL clubs being allowed to have special voting privileges -- and, just to be clear - who do these so-called 'big 6' think they are when they think that they can interfere with the politics of other clubs ( regarding potential buyers ) -- that is nothing short of breath-taking arrogance - and smacks of hypocrisy -- when you consider that all they're looking to do is to ruin the integrity of the EPL and English football in general - by slowly manipulating the system to engineer a cartel of 6................ and in a couple of years time, they'll use their 'special' voting powers to kick out the other 'little' 12 clubs from the EPL and gang up with the other 'Big' clubs in Europe to form a League of their own ---- and, do you know what -- it will happen --- why .....

    ... because of so-called football fans in this country ( and others ) -- the fans who have helped SKY and BT create a monster that is killing the game at' grass roots.' These 'customers,' I would accuse of showing extremely little - or NO interest in physically and financially supporting their humble local clubs. They're paying a few ££ each month and being fed a (admittedly ), slick product.

    I mentioned in another post that, it's not the fault of Sky or BT that football, lower down its' pyramid, is being ruined. These TV companies have recognised a gap in the market - a demand of which is created by ''so-called' football fans --- and that is why the European Super League will happen - not because ''true'' football fans want it - but because 'customers' of Sky and BT demand it..........and, sadly, I expect that I shall subscribe ---- but before you call me a complete hypocrite;

    ... please remember that in 'normal' times, I would always go to see Gills home matches ( 100 mile trip )- and most away games -- including when there were live matches involving the 'Big 6' teams ( including Champions League ), back home on my tv set - whilst my frost bitten testicles were being shrivelled up, on a miserable Tuesday night in February in some Nprthen back of beyond.... I am not just a customer!

    I agree with your sentiments mate. If our club went under, I'd be done with football, I've only stayed with it due to prehistoric loyalty, and another thing that itstimupnorth mentioned, the match day experience, where mates get together and have a laugh and a drink.
