So it was 48-72 hours, now it's maybe Monday or Tuesday. Same old stuff. Next week it'll be the week after, then the end of January, etc...
Hi James. You're right of course, we are just spirits in the ether. Gonna stick around and talk footie?
Sadly I'm not surprised. He didn't manage a single conversation about football last time he was here, that I remember. So did he walk , or did he get banned?
From Dr Kish … www.cafcpicks.com/cgi-bin/drkish/display.pl?month=201901&date=20190105&time=0538 The long, drawn out takeover saga finally seems to be coming to an end. Jim White revealed on talkSPORT on Friday, that Charlton will be sold early next week. After many false dawns, it appears that Roland Duchatelet will finally part company with the Addicks. The new owners will be Australians Scott Farquar and Mike Cannon-Brookes. The duo are multi-billionaires and co-founders and CEOs of Australian software giant Atlassian. The pair are both 39-years-old, and are neighbours on Sydney's exclusive Point Piper harbourside area. Charlton will finally be in the hands of owners who are young, ambitious and most importantly, rich. Very rich.
The new owners will deserve the thanks of every loyal, long term Charlton fan who only has the best interests of the club at heart. That includes all the regular posters currently posting on here. Not only have they relieved us of Duchatelet, they have also put an end to the tedious circus involving Muir I hope the agitators & wannabes elsewhere on CL give the new owner and management team time & space to appoint their own people. No self appointed expert fans jockeying for roles at the club, please. We’ve been there before.
I think we all need to see what the details of the sale are before we get too excited about the takeover, IF it happens.
We still have a long way to go in this saga. I have said all along that Dushitelet has had an ulterior motive with Charlton. I hope that I am wrong regards the ownership of The Valley after the takeover.
IF it is Americans buying the club with the Australians fronting it, I would be very interested to know how far away the Australians were from having the funds in the first place.
