@lardiman I deleted the thread as we are discussing it on here...I hope you don't mind. The interview on Talksport has now been delayed 24 hours, and is being broadcast tomorrow. It was pre-recorded yesterday. Presumably Tom Rubber arse has heard it, and had a nervous breakdown
Talksport has posted a 30 second clip of the RD interview. Duchatelet: "The big mistake was we never communicated with the fans . I have lost some money but we failed to understand that Charlton is THEIR LIFE "
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Duchatelet seems to be glossing over other minor issues, including interfering in team affairs, the crap appointments, the laughable playing budget...and the crazy price he is asking for the Club?
Yes, that was the big mistake. I am glad to see Duchatelet acknowledging this at last. Right from the start it was "Roland owns the Club, he'll do what he thinks is best" etc. Fair enough - He bought CAFC, he invested to stabilise it. His was the right to take it in a new direction if he so wished. But it was the casual disregard for the concerns of fans which characterised his regime right from the start. However, if these words are going to reflect the tone of the whole interview, then I am listening. It sounds as though RD just might be willing to eat a lot of humble pie. If he is genuinely sorry and says so, then for me that is a step in the right direction. In the end however action is needed by RD to put things right, either by new investment and a new willingness to let good football people run our Club for him (extremely unlikely) or by getting on and selling the Club to somebody who wants to fund and create footballing success.
Duchatelet can’t feel all that guilty - he is asking a price that basically prohibits the sale of the club.
The Belgian is willing to apologise for his actions since buying Charlton... but … Elf will not apologise for his actions on Saturday? Who is the bigger man?
I've told you...we are crowd funding to raise your £80. Now up to 7p, after a very generous lunchtime donation from @AllHellLetLoose
He can say what he likes now. I'm sincerely not interested. Besides, who is he kidding? It can't be that long ago he was complaining the sale was being held up by protesting fans. And that the club could have got to the Prem if we'd all behaved better. Why are we listening to this clown? We don't need an interview. Just a sale.
I have actually heard the whole interview but genuinely could not tell you a word he said on the account of being in a complete state of arousal. Is it just me ?
