Im not saying Ralls is high on the assist list. However his assists total is virtually the same as Mcphail.
Agree with that Nin. Hate "points counting" for upcoming games, but I can see some ugly stuff coming up over the next 8 weeks. To push us up toward that top 6 spot, we're going have to beat teams currently above us like Sheff Wed, Swansea, Bristol City, Charlton and Forest - all of whom are doing well. Not saying for a minute we can't do it, but we've just bombed out to West Brom playing some pretty gruesome stuff. The reasons why we'll play "ugly"?............ 1) We haven't got the right player mix at the club to make a dramatic change to our style. 2) We haven't got a managment team at the club that is going to do it anyway. Stand by for more grunt, blood and guts. We'll take any points as always, but it ain't going to be pretty. In all honesty, is anyone else getting a bit pissed off with this?
Agreed OS. But what gets me is City have Mendez-Laing, Murphy, Whyte, Tomlin and Glatzel for example whom should be tearing up this league. Not looking forward to that batch of games you mentioned; all those teams will pass it around for fun whilst City stand off them and try to make the most of the little possession they get.
Ive got no problem with direct football but i cant accept that these players cant do much better. I dont expect to see beautiful passing football but we should be doing far better on the ball. I really dont think we can be working on possession. The long throws up the line are terrible. Aimed at a striker who cant head it and sorry looks out of his depth. We needed a quality midfielder and striker this summer. We then lost Reid and Zahore as well. Vaulks and Glatzel so far look poor signings.
Agreed. We all posted pre season that we needed better quality in central midfield. Disappointing that Warnock thought we’d challenge with the static central midfielders we’ve got. QPR and WBA showed such quality in central midfield in our last 2 games. It’s not great watching the opposition midfield control every game we play.
Is it just down to Warnock, Blackwell and Jepson then? I do agree we can do better with what we've got availble, so what's the real problem here?
Clearly not working now but let's not forget these guys saved us from relegation 3 years ago and, against the odds, got us back to the Prem. They are due respect for then, if not now. Warnock has intimated he will walk if no sign of success by Christmas. I think he will be true to his word and Blackwell and Jepson will go with him. I also think he will give VT, Choo and Dalman a heads up earlier so a suitable replacement can be lined up. He won't want to be escorted to the door.
