Haha ... hey spring chicken, you've no doubt watched it as a piece of cinematic history gold. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out and yes it is a great great film.

Whilst thinking about my advancing years I also saw Star Wars at the cinema, tender age of nine years old (maybe 8 can't remember when in the year it came out). Now that was an experience, totally unlike anything I had witnessed before. It was only years later that I started to see all the holes in the plot and the poor direction and the shine started to fade. But I walked out of the cinema like I was walking on air!!

Back to The Future 2 & 3 were poor in my opinion. Could have never lived up to the first. And, I've hated Star Wars ever since i first saw it. Load of ****e. Same with Lord of The Rings aswell. Terrible films.

That film could have been a ****ing masterpiece. The story of Stauffenberg is one thats gripped me since i was 13! A film that does need to be made into a film is the story of Ruth Altbeker Cyprys. A jew from Warsaw who escaped the gas chambers at Treblinka by jumping from the train. The book "A jump for life" is incredible. Its horrendously graphic though.

Sounds brilliant! I'll pop over to amazon in a minute and order the book because that sounds like something I would really like to read. Totally fascinated by that period in history.

I was delighted that they made the film Sophie Scholl a few years back and it was pretty good (although could have been better). I'd read a book about her a few years before (Sophie Scholl and the White Rose) and was blown away by her story. Thoroughly recommend them both if you haven't already seen them.

What!?!?!?!?! How can you say that about a truly truly epic trilogy!

Also, I've never seen Star Wars...

ahh, shoegaze! ****ing brilliant. if I was a guitarist in a band I would DEFINITELY be into shoegazing i reckon.

Check out a band called Exit Calm, oh and Spotlight Kid. They're fantastic! Amazing to see them live when you're stoned (I would like to point out im in no way advocating the use of drug use, for the pleasure of watching a live band....but it does make it alot better)

Trust me mate...its an absolute must read. I went to Warsaw last year...and standing at the Umschlagplatz brought me tears after hearing some of the dreadful things that had happened there. There is one part (I wont say what) that made me put the book down one evening. I just couldnt carry on.

Lol, well that makes two of us then. Im a wee bit in the air now...listening to Duran Duran's Ordinary World haha.

It's partly true, I've seen about half an hour of a Star Wars film and I really didn't care for it, just wasn't interesting me in the slightest.

Mental! I got into it when I was younger is all. Can't beat a decent space opera!

Anyway lads, starting to crash so I'm off <ok>
Might watch some Fast Show in bed or something

It's been lovely, yet again <ok>

haha brilliant. we've been watching conspiracy theory programmes all night. that and things about space and such, blows your mind <ok>

night all

haha yeah. My favourite film ever though. just goes to show you can't beat the classics! it was re-released in the cinemas last year, i didn't get to go see it though, was gutted :( would've loved to see it on the big screen!
same with Star Wars. what an experience that must have been!

It was an experience because it was so out of the blue and unlike anything before it. And to a child it was almost magical. You were given a goody bag of stickers and things when you left as well, which has never happened to me before or since so the whole thing felt special.

Like philthompsonsnose says though I actually came to realise that the film was actually pretty poor when you strip away the graphics and the feeling of massive scale. But I can still understand why some people love it.

I was speaking to someone who used to work where i work now, and she reckoned that Star Wars is good if you get into it while your a young'un, and if you wait until your teenage years or later to first see it you won't like it usually.

Night AH <ok>

Brilliant. Try watching something called the MacPherson tapes when you're high. Now there is an experience haha.
