Yep, 5 days time. My consolation is that I only have two exams after that and I'm finished. I can't say I miss those first year modules (apart from Criminal which is a laugh), but just wait until you have to do ****ing Equity and Trusts
Google doesn't know anything about what I'm doing. I'm sat here doing things the old-school way, head buried in books.
I hope you realise I was only teasing! I recall when I wrote my dissertation I was told to restrict it to about 25000 words and that if it was much over that then I would possibly fail. As it was I ended up with nearly 35000 and try as I might I could not edit it down. I remember the very lovely saying at the time something like "That is just like you, using ten words when two will do." Despite its length I did pass.
During my training as a Patissier, I had the exact same problem. Someone suggested I simply use less Hundreds and thousands and, hey presto, my Dessertation was a piece of cake.
We're doing equity and trusts in Property, that along with tenancy agreements etc... So painfully boring, the first part of the year was a piece of piss because that was registration, fixtures and fittings etc. I know you were kidding, hence the Daily Mail comment! Sadly I wasn't teasing too much - most people do work from Wikipedia! 35000 is pretty impressive work, you must've buried your head in your work for about a month for that, there's no way I'd have the attention span (typical youth of today)
It is interesting to see the correlation between students and the use of the pessimist/neurotics thread; perhaps education doesn't help us at all. Ps Dan it is amazing how much you can write when you put your mind to it, especially when the fear of failure is driving you along
I just watched the highlights of some of the games this weekend. Vaz Te is in some amazing form unfortunately, he isn't just scoring goals, but ruddy good ones at that! Brighton's defending was shoddy mind. Portsmouth were more than a little lucky to win their game, Kitson did a funny dive after a little contact outside the area...dived into the area and won a penalty and a red card for the Doncaster player! He later scored with his hand...But fair play to Pompey, despite being on their last legs they keep pulling off last minute results (either through the spectacular or the ref) And finally Peterborough...they looked pretty poor. All 4 Leeds goals were effectively 6 yard tap ins. However in keeping with the spirit of this thread, they can't be that bad defensively again can they?
At least it's coursework - you can control the controllables with that. I've got exams starting in two week for my MSc, and I can never buckle down and do any work until the next Saints game has been played and won. Uncertainty is the killer. One one side you could say at least we've got these things to take our mind off the Saints situation - but it doesn't work like that. Saints just get inside your head and play football with your brain.
One positive of 10pm tomorrow (and I know this is a negative thread) is that - whatever the result - BBC will finally take down that photo of Le Fondre off our homepage. Yes, I know Le Fondre was born to score goals. Now please go away!
This is a very difficult waiting period. We've had an unfortunate weekend, but I think most of us want to remain optimistic as we're still playing well and we deserve to go up after being in the top two all year. However, there's a part of us which wants to soften the blow should the last three results not go our way. It's not necessarily being negative, just defensive - a plan B. Come tomorrow night, we'll be in a more positive frame of mind cheering on the lads whether it's at the match or just listening to it on the radio. We should go up this year, but if not we should still be very proud of what the club has achieved over the past couple of years, our brilliant team and our resolute manager. We're going up one way or another.
I'm still pretty confident we can avoid the play-offs, but if we did slip into them, I think the pure injustice of that, and the fact that we have been so much better than everyone else for so long, will arm the players with a seriously good chance of making those games count. I thought the psychological blow would give us no chance, but I think maybe it would work the other way round.
You could depress me even more if you wanna talk IPR in the telecomunications field, especially mobile telephony..and now 7 years is over I can even embelish on the 3G wars if you really want to get to the edge manic depression. Saints recent fortunes, i.e., last weekend, is unimaginatively positive in comparison.
I don't know anything about that, and it sounds a lot like I don't want to. Honestly, after Friday, I never want to hear about it again.
Just found out that I can take some law and management modules next year. I hate engineering so much that I think I might do it.
