The players they wanted, or the next best options? I see no evidence of the former. Johnson signed crap for fun, Coppell had gems and howlers, Millen the same and now McInnes with players he doesn't even seem to want to play. The evidence suggests that the managers aren't getting what they want and that their hands are being forced into signing players they can afford, rather than players that we need. A league we don't seem to belong in. Can you provide the info on what he has spent £40M on? I've said this numerous times on here, but the main selling point for him is corporate facilities. Ashton Gate is a stadium near some shops, whereas the new Ashton Vale stadium will not only boost our credentials, but the resale value of the club for any future acquisitions. Only an idiot would say that we've outgrown Ashton Gate. We barely fill it now, and it'll be dead come League 1. Lansdown wants a new stadium, a corporate sponsor on it, companies using the facilities to boost the Bristol City brand and someone to buy him out of the club within the not-so-distant future. With him we'll be in League 1, and seemingly with him we'll be in a similar position. He's done a lot for the club, but we need some transparency because the buck stops with him and not the numerous managers we've had through the doors.
When you have to start knocking people its usually a sign of exasperation....Humans are unique, they often wear their heart on their sleeve and this leads to exaperating circumstances as far as they are concerned............ ..heart on the sleeve? girl friend or boy friend who ends a relation in the nicest possible way and leaves the partner over cherishing a memory that is no more....but life goes on ... With SL HE HAS NOT ENDED A RELATIONSHIP, he is merely courting a situation that will need a lot of money when it happens and needs to make sure he has some when it does........ heres £6 million go and get a player that you need...........simples.....but which one, certainly not a knee jerk reaction one just to spend the money!
Not just your opinion Shiny You share that opinion with probably 98% of our club's support Anyone else is just a numpty
I have my own opinions on SL which I've put on here several times over the years. He's without doubt a great and successful businessman, but still appears to know little about football management after all this time. I will wager that in getting rid of Millen, Johnson and Tinnion it cost him a lot of dough too. Bristol City are fast heading to be run in the bad old ways that football clubs in the 60's and 70's were operated in divisions 2 to 4, and that's just on the generosity of the owner/chairman, who puts in just enough every year to retain control and buy a couple of players. The trouble is now that even if SL wanted to sell the club, who would want it when it's split into several businesses. Are we a viable option to a wealthy investor that wants to part with substantial sums of cash ?
