I'm not taking anything away from Norwich yesterday, I'm just annoyed that we were on top and we blew it again. There are a few things we haven't learnt from our days with Rafa, late substitutions being one of them; and when are we going to learn that 1-0 just isn't enough?? We seem to be suffering from some kind of 20 minute itch. We start really well, then after 20 minutes we tend to fall back. For the last 10 minutes or so there is a frenetic urgency to our play, as in oh **** we haven't got long to turn this around! It may make for exciting football but we want the goals going in when they should be going in, ie, when Suarez et al get the opportunities not to squander. We're playing well but it's all a big waste right now! And I still want to know what the deal is with Carroll.
It's difficult, because we've been playing well and had we taken our chances against Sunderland, Stoke, United and Norwich just think where we could be? The only good thing is that we ARE creating chances. It could be a lot worse, we could be playing terrible, not creating anything and conceeding goals. I think it's only a matter of time until we start putting them away, but what concerns me more is the amount of goals we have conceeded. Only 2 clean sheets, both of them against 10 men.
Fact is Norwich punished us. We asked for it, we got it. After the crap of last season under Hodgson I actually do enjoy watching us play this season, it's exciting, it's enjoyable. But when we come up against the likes of city and we miss our chances, I shudder to bloody think what might happen.
