I can sympathise & empathise with you, gut wrenching and stomach churning with a child involved, sadly, from personal experience. And, don't beat yourself up re. being asked to take Stanley to watch City, you didn't say no, you said "we'll see" - in child speak that's a yes, who could resist that beautiful face! RIP Stanley, taken far too early.
