He winds up the Rangers fans and acts like a hard man constantly. I ****ing hate him and if any harm comes to him I hope he takes a good, hard look at himself before he starts pointing fingers

 

Relgion has no place in football but it will never go away. It is passed down to family member's, Ranger's hate Celtic and visa a versa. I'm a Celtic supporter but Lennon is an idiot as someone said holding his ears when playing Ranger's just to wind up fan's just stupid. Idiots sending bulletts and bombs also stupid but in the end I dont see this situation ever going a way . The Hatred in some quarters is too strong. Thank God we dont have this in England.

 

It's pathetic really, religion has nothing to do with it.
If they truly were Protestants/Catholics they wouldn't believe in violence and would be all love your neighbour kind of ****. They're just using it as an excuse and have been for centuries.
This is why I don't mind people being religious, but it's when people get involved with a religion and twist/distort it for their own gain that I have a problem with.
It's a bit like the Judean's people front in Monty Python or United Atheist Alliance in South Park and is ****ing pathetic if you ask me.
I mean we have a rivalry with Sunderland, but that doesn't mean I'll beat the **** out of any and every Mackem I meet. Infact some of them, while misguided, are quite canny and I have a few close Mackem friends.

 

If all relgion's believed in what they preached the world would be a better place. I respect people who have belief, me I lost mine a longtime ago. Let's hope this matter get's dealt with and next season we only see the good side of football.

Staying only 20miles from Glasgow I have a lot of contact with fans of either side of the Old Firm. The problem is they are all bitter bastards. All I have heard all week at work is bitter and paranoid comments from one set of fans about the other. I don't condone the stress and threats that Lennon has been under however he does himself no favours. Goading the Rangers fan and making daft comments about other teams in the league!!!

Very ignorant view, you sound like the crowd of bigots trying to justify the abuse he is getting. Lets get this straight, it quite simply is about his religion and nothing else no matter what anyone else says and for that the blame lies squarely with the knucklescraping contingent in the scot and N.I. loyalist circles.

Ferguson is more of a wind up manager than Lennon yet cant say I remember him getting any threats. How is he a bigot also, what makes you think that. Just because he is passionate abnout Celtic. He played with pride for one of the most bigoted loyallist teams in existence (N.I.) while the fans sung "up to our knees in Fenian blood" and his reward was death threats.

I think what is infuriating these neanderthals is the fact he wont go away. He gets threatened to quit football, he played on with distinction. He was threatened to stay out Glasgow and was given a beating to reinforce the point, did he comply, did he ****. He is threatened with bullets and bombs to quit his managerial post, hes still there.

Dont even try and justify an irrational hatred of the man with no basis and try not to use it as semi justification for the abuse he is recieving. The blame lies squarely with those committing the acts.

Note: to reinforce my point, the "Hearts fan" who attacked him has been charged with religiously motivated assault, obviously from something he said under questioning so bang goes the theory it had something to do with anything untoward he may have said towards Hearts before the game.
