    I prefer Tenerife but Lanzarote and Gran Canaria decent as well.
    Mount Tiede is about to erupt apparently so maybe pick one of the other two.

    In order of preference Gran Canaria, Tenerife - but would not go back to Lanzagrottie if you paid me.

    Playa da las Americas Tenerefe
    Some good quality hotels
    Plenty golf
    Weather pritty good all year round
    But not as hot in Nov Dec Jan Feb but still good

    I'd give Fuertaventura a wide berth mate. It's quickly turning into a cheap beer, english all-day breakfast, stag weekend sort of place, full of pissed up idiots.

    But having said that there are 2 golf courses and 1 of them has a spa hotel. I think it's the Alba? The restaurant there is top notch and the golf course is very good. If you went stayed there, there'd be no reason to venture out and not much to venture out for.

    I don't want to be anywhere near the pissed-up brigades...I'll have a deek at Elba, but may try another island. Thanks for the tips, Gil T, Fentonpell and Macvin - looks like the less volcanic Gran Canaria..
