My old gaffs a stones throw from wanno bridge. I was on the other end of it I like how after the get dragged off the road they just get back up and walk quietly back and sit down lol
I know the blackwall tunnel and dartford bridge well. And that whole area along the A2 is always choka. I suspect even more in the last 20 years since I moved away. I think the whole protest is fraught with problems, because at the end of the day it affects ordinary people trying to go about their business. But like I said, it’s effective in terms of a protest, because everybody is talking about it. My fear is somebody is going to properly lose their rag soon and just plough into somebody sitting in the road, and then we’ll have a murder/manslaughter case on our hands
One person needs to be brave enough to run one of them over and it will all end and people can go to work to feed their kids on time
London has needed new bridges for as long as i can remember. They did spend millions building one but its not for cars and it wobbles when you walk on it. So Yeh
I disagree. It won't be effective as you're not getting people onside so it becomes easier for the authorities to write it off as a small group of loons who are very much in the minority.
One death today will save many in the future........let's be honest here most where just workers drug dealers and shoppers hardly the emergency is it
They say that there’s no such thing as bad publicity. If they are getting noticed, then they are achieving what they’ve set out to do. Personally I support the cause, but I don’t support what they are doing, because it has a major detrimental effect on people trying to get to work, and some of those people work in healthcare, social care etc so it’s having a real time impact on people’s lives.
Only they’re not achieving what they set out to do. As this method of protest is counterproductive. I think the majority of the population would likely agree with their actual aim if it was explained clearly, but no one is talking about their aim as it’s been lost in the fury at their dumb ass tactics, in fact I doubt the majority couldn’t even tell you what it is. The only reaction they’ve had from Govt is to clamp down on their right to protest via the courts. They should stop and think about other methods of attracting press attention that doesn’t involve pisssing off the public.
I think their aim was to get the issue noticed, so they’ve achieved that. Agree with the rest though, it’s counter productive as the Govt are now threatening them with 6 month imprisonment and unlimited fines
No, their stated aim is to ensure that all homes are fully insulated before the end of the decade. An aim that is both green and important due to the staggering rises in energy costs and the fuel poverty that’ll bring with it.
