Please pass this comment on to SB for his pre match talk. Although I can hear more Keegan than anything with the, "I'd love it if we did it, absolutely love it."

What a MISERABLE lot some of you are! When you support your football team you support them through thick-and-thin, good times and bad times, rain, hail, snow and sunshine and celebrate the 'highs' of victory and be supportive in the sadness of defeat.
Many will criticize our players (myself included) as well as Management and owners when we make statements on 'message boards', such as this one, and we take ourselves far too seriously at times when (inwardly) we know we are nowhere near the standard our players have achieved nor the ability to become a real life football manager.
I am surprised at you Madge (OLM), you too Muzzy and others who declare that they will 'walk away' and come back when we are more successful - is that what is called 'plastic' supporters - you aught to be ashamed of yourselves.
I watched the game yesterday and despaired at our standard of play. Most of our blokes were 'off-the-boil' and that's putting it mildly. Anyone could see the total frustration and despondency shown in Steve Bruce's face. Having spent enough on new players to feed a small nation for a year we could all expect a little better of them to say the least but we're not out there on the pitch. Stray passes that on any other day would have found their man. A horrible deflection leaving McGreggor stranded. Curtis' header that, on any other day, would have found the back of the net. A 10 million quid striker who, if he trialled, wouldn't get a game with Scunny. Our midfield with no direction whatsoever. Our defence in disarray. Us 'oldies' have seen it all before from the cold rainy days stood on Bunkers Hill to the comfort of an all-seater stadium but our support will always remain.
Yes, I too have walked away from Boothferry Park wondering why I bothered after being spoilt through watching the likes of Raich Carter only to see a re-surge when we signed Ken Wagstaff and Ian Butler who linked up with Chris Chilton to form one of the most formidable attacking line-ups the Club have ever seen. I have watched from afar as we almost went into extinction only to be saved by the likes of Adam Pearson and then Assem Allam. Our rise to the Premier League and appearing in an FA Cup Final have been the crowning achievements in my life and should I make it to August 31st this year I will have supported the Tigers for 70 years.
I fear that we will be relegated this year but (probably not in my lifetime) there will be another resurrection where we will see another 'idol' bursting the back of the net with continuing regularity.
In the meantime folks, supporting Hull City has, and always will be, a 'bumpy ride' so if you are not prepared to hang on then by all means sod off!

56 million constitutes what per player per week? If my maths is correct it works out at 43k a week, that cannot be right?

Most fans, ours included, can take defeat, in fact we can take defeat after defeat, however what most cannot abide is players - or 'blokes' as you prefer to call them in your semi-Australian muppetry manner - not having the stomach for the fight. What happened today after 20 minutes? Up until that point we were pressing and looking like there would be only one winner. Really what happened, please explain.

Also, as has been pointed out, why was Elmo played at fullback thereby limiting our attacking options on that side when there are other players that could have played in that position? In fact why did we have Bruce and Macca, two centre halves, on the bench, why didn't we start with three centre backs, thereby allowing Elmo and Robertson to do what they do best, attack?!

I didn't say anything about walking away, I just said we look rubbish and will probably get relegated.

Let's face it TigerRoo it's easier to continue to 'support' the team when you haven't watched at the ground for many (50?) years. The level of commitment isn't the same.

I haven't seen a game 'live' at the KC, the last game I saw 'live' was in 1998 at Boothferry Park.
The level is not the point, it is the commitment that counts. Either you are a supporter or you aren't.
Many cannot afford the entrance fee any more but will cheer from the comfort of their armchair or pub and wear a Hull City shirt even though it might be years out of date.

Success and attendance are intrinsically linked; if the team are doing ****, what motivation do people have to go and watch them? Most fans like myself enjoy just watching City play, the league is pretty much irrelevant (although it's nice to see us testing ourselves at the highest level).

We all want our club to do well and we know full well what our team is capable of, the fact that we are disappointed that we aren't 11th in the Premier League is testament to how far we've come but you're still going to get people who watch us play that badly and simply stop going.

I'm not going to tell people not to worry, it'd be an insult to fans everywhere if I gave a speech about positivity and about watching from the stands in 98 when we were **** etc etc, the fact is we arent doing well at all and if something doesn't give, we are in for a world of hurt.

Thats the key to it, a lot of the players we have now have no heart- I saw the game again on BT Sport and Michael Owen is usually away with the fairies but he spotted a lack of spirit and players bad body language, especially Huddlestone

No Roo your wrong, like me you are no longer a supporter. Us expats who left years ago now follow Hull City. Of course we want the team to win as much as the next person, The supporters are those who turned up yesterday after paying good money and got served up a very poor performance which gives them much more right to be critical of the team than you or I.

Not to mention spending all the money and sitting in the freezing cold, I could probably quite happily be an armchair fan in Oz too

A world leaders aid once famously said "defeat is ok". This seems to be the watchword, attitude or philosophy at the club at present. In our last two, 3.0 outings, there has been a distinct lack of desire, passion, application by all concerned.
If there is anyone at the club in a senior management role, with any credibility, they should sit Bruce and the playing staff down, Phil Brown style, and ask them if they, a, want to be here and b, if they have the minerals required for the fight ahead. If the answer to either question isn't positive, the outcome is obvious.

I now apologise in advance, as the world leaders aid was Nelson Mandelas chiropodist

    Horse!
Are you still buying Hull City clothing from the on-line store? I do. That's supporting with cash.
I have two sons, 3 grandsons and 2 great grandsons attending every home match - rain, hail, blow or shine.
All a ticket to the game will guarantee you is a seat - and that's all! It will not guarantee goals, fantastic football or a win and does not give you the right to be more critical than someone who has watched the game on TV (and probably had a far better view of the game than those there).
I mainly criticize posters (not the team) for telling me that some players are fantastic when I can see quite clearly that they are not. Whether I am 12,500 miles away or at the ground I can see whether a player has got it or not. This of course, is just my opinion but I am entitled to it and entitled to state it on these boards.
Altidore, Simpson, Proschwitz and Sagbo are players who I was told just 'needed time' and they would 'come good'. They could take 10 years and never be any good and they haven't.
I have looked at this bloke Hernandez, watched the replays and studied his movements and I'm sorry but I think we have bought another 'pup'! Nowhere near 10 million.
I do hope he can prove me wrong though.

I seem to have touched a nerve and you have gone on to make many points that have nothing to do with what i said.
You started it by critisising ( sp?) those who were there yesterday for expressing their dissapointment at the performance of the team. Like it or not but in my opinion they have much more right than those of us who live thousands of miles away. In no way does that prevent you ( or I ) from following the team from afar and expressing your opinion. Just don't try to make out we are all equal cause were not.
