Persoanlly I don't want us to sign Premiership has beens. There is just no point unless we are trying to fill a gap where we have an academy product that will be expected to come through in 1 or 2 years time. I think signing players such as Numo Gomes is just dumb - he will be one of the higher earners but will likely never get an affinity for the club, fans or area as he will see this as a short term deal. What Derek has done with Greg Cunnigham is exactly what I would like to see us do - get in good young talent whose growth has been blocked by the idiocy of the Premier league. Build a squad of young exciting players who have a point to prove and want to commit themselves to the club. Forget the big names, let's bring youth and excitement to the Gate and build a team that the fans can grow with and generate some pride in.
