No I am not thinking about things like "Have you got a copy of the Sun?" and "isn't Manchester great?" but Liverpool FC have produced a list of terms that stewards and other public facing staff members are to look out for; http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/30/liverpool-unacceptable-words-discrimination Now most of them are clearly sensible but are "man up" and "playing like a girl" really sexist? Yes they are derogatory but do they belittle women? And surely there are far more vile things said on the terracing? After a brief discussion at work we have decided that git-face seems to be the insult you could use in the Kop
I'm glad that some terms are not included - like Referring to the doubtful parentage of the referee & derogative terms for male and female genetalia.
So if a lad sells his rear he mustn't be called a rent-boy, yet if a woman sells herself it's ok to call her a whore? Do their anti-discrimination rules actually fall into the trap of being discriminate.
I don't think the list covers all words or phrases, I am sure you will get in trouble if you drop the c-bomb
