We're all very angry about it I think. But I won't dwell on it anymore. Posts made when emotions are high don't make for a happy forum.
Getting back to Charlton - related. I’d ban Peter Varney from Twitter He’s a nice bloke & a true Charlton man - but he’s reinvented himself these days as some sort of football sage on all sorts of topics around how clubs should be run. While he is speaking from a base of considerable experience, it’s also fair to point out - which I do to him from time to time - that he was one of the joint architects of our original demise, along with Murray. Varney’s reply is always the same - that one day the truth about what happened in that disastrous period will come out, via minutes from Board meetings.
I've just done a quick search and there are six Peter Varney threads in our Charlton forum, going back to 2011. Later I might merge them into a 'super-thread' so we can look back on our opinions of him...
A Richard Murray v Simon Jordan cage fight would be better. The undercard could be Global v @ElfsborgAddick
Things That Should Be Banned. Those green Lime bikes. They are being dumped everywhere now in London, just left in shop doorways, outside schools, I even walked past one in an underpass today. For the first time I have noticed men in vans driving round London in the evenings and scooping them up to return them to base, presumably they must have in built trackers, although I have no idea how they work. Khan needs to regulate / ban the bastards.
It's a pity really. The intention behind these bikes was a good one I think. And maybe in some other European countries where citizens have some sense of civic pride it might have worked. But here there are simply too many inconsiderate, selfish morons roaming the streets. These bikes are a menace to all pedestrians, especially partially sighted & blind folk, when they are left lying around. People hurt by these should get their lawyers onto the Mayor.
