We have to be vigilant though as football fans to ensure this doesn't creep slowly back into our game. When I was Holland for the Amsterdam Tournament, I was speaking to some people (locals) and they say football violence is still very prevalent in their game and the authorities there are not as determined to stamp it out as ours are. Families deserted football in the 70's and 80's. They have only in the last 10 to 15 years come back and we must ensure they feel safe enough to keep on coming. The future of the game depends on it.
What an absolute load of bollocks you talk. No one is suggesting for one moment that Darlo fans are saints, anyone who enters onto the playing field is a moron. There is no getting away from the fact. And dont you try to down play the incident by saying it was only a couple of hundred. 1 is 1 to many. Now piss off.
Totally agree, love football, love the banter that comes with it, especially with colleagues at work, hate the mindless thugs who are so arrogant they have to spoil any occasion for everyone, this behaviour is not what football is about, I j#hope they are pleased with themselves, spoiult what should have been a big occassion for the Darlo fans
Syd, my problem is not with supporters, these are arsholes claiming to be supporters, and dragging the rest of us down, they dont do football, just want the imfamy, we will IMO never get a world cup on these shores in my lifetime. and thats a shame for the young fans.
