It was clearly implied, or are you the one who is too thick to realise?

Anyway. Back to the topic. Nothing will be done about those who ran on the pitch(even police said it was good natured, as has Barton), but the footage of those causing trouble is very clear. 3 year bans for everyone on the pitch fighting. Good to see the back of them as well. One of them has a massive reputation and it was good to see him finally arrested. I and other regulars know who the trouble makers are, but until they are caught, nothing can be done. As controversial as this may sound, it could have been a blessing in disguise as the trouble makers will get done.

There you go, insults again. Stupid, hypocritic little boy. You think you are so intellectually bright, but you have the intellect of a turd. My turn now. **** off you ****.

In reality here, the Toon, like ourselves, have wonderful travelling support, who rival clubs comment on and compliment time and time again, it's pretty rare to hear of any disorder from our fans, other than when we play each other (par for the course in any heated derby).

All the facts seem to point to the Darlo fans having instigated the trouble.

Yes, the Toon fans shouldn't have been on the pitch, but being a friendly, just down the road, with cheap tickets, i bet a significant portion of the 6k Toon fans were NOT regular away followers, and clearly had an attitude of 'it's a friendly, it doesn't matter'.

Fans should never invade the pitch, but if it was done in the right spirit, and in conjunction with the chant, and therefore light hearted, are we to tar people invading the pitch when they win promotion, survive relegation with the same rod and ban them 2?

Strikes me the small town/small club mentality of some Darlo fans to plonk themselves back in the away stand with their much grander neighbours was the catalyst for this, far be it from me to defend the Toon unconditionally, but the facts coming out are that 'Darlo fans took the opportunity to get themselves into the away end', not vice-versa.

This for me clearly points the finger at them.

Look at it this way, i've been going to the match, home & away (less so away recently, admittedly), i've been in away grounds when the SAFC fans have been 75% of the stadium on several occasions, mingled with home supporters, and no trouble at all, same for the Toon.

I tell you what though, i'm not an angry or confrontational man, but if i was sat in the away end and home fans came in and started throwing punches about, i'd sharp be on my feet defending myself and the clubs fans, especially when there's young kids in the crowd to protect.

I speculate that 90% on this board would do the same.

I apologise for a couple of my comments on here Syd, but it's all the time. I remember a while back you criticised me for abusing people. I was having a good discussion the other day regarding players we have signed, and once Cest disagreed with me and other toon fans, he started abusing people. The proof is here:

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...o-give-him-a-chance-of-staying-up-this-season.

Now try and tell me that's justified.

A few of my comments may be strong, but never go as far as calling someone a **** on every post. Most of the time my posts do get involved with the discussion.

funny you should say that all this has got me reminising, it was at roker must have been 86-88, i was still at school so 14-16 years old (and i am not a fighter anyway), and went to the derby with one of my mates from school.

We were in the K stand, which is tiny, its not like the fullwell/roker end, probably could fit 300-500 people max, and it was full of kids and the older generation that day, just before kick off 20-30 of the biggest mags come in, coppers seen them and went and surrounded them straight away.

1 of them later on in the match done a bird call to the other side of the stadium, it all kicked off over there, the coppers that were surrounding them, all scarpered to help over the other side, well as soon as they were half way around, all hell broke loose, i will be honest and say i am not a fighter, and the mags kicked the **** out of us until the police came back to restore order, but that is the scariest moment ever at a football match for me, there just wasnt any sunderland fans in there to help us really.

and we had to get back to Blyth after it, musnt have been any trouble though as i cant remember any of the trip home, or i was just to scared to remember lol

it was even on the radio (thats there was fighing in the K stand, so it was a massive brawl not just 1 or 2 idiots), my dad was listening to it, and wouldnt tell my mam until i got through the door, he was bloody worried though.

Right reading through this Badger u make some good points to start off with but then end up getting into silly arguments (not blaming anyone personally), it was meant as good natured fun by the vast majority who went on, but it was still very stupid. The fans from both teams who were fighting were bang out of line and are a disgrace to both supporters of Newcastle and Darlington.

Where is Cest in this exchange? Where is your justification for calling someone a helmet? You are nothing but a stupid little boy and a hypocrite.

The funny thing from last night was, we were walking back to the station and some Newcastle fans(mostly kids) were mouthing off, wanting Darlo fans to have a go at them. They finally did, now I hate football violence but it was good to see the Newcastle fan with 'the mouth' got a right good beating. It's not big or clever, but it certainly brought him down a peg or two. His mates just ran away.

I'm not condoning any of it, but i think we need to be less blinkered and not use this as a rod for the Toon followers backs.

Do we want an away fans ban at the derbies? I know i don't.

Both clubs draw incredible attendances given the lack of success at the clubs, the size of the populations (the one club city line is bullshit, Birmingham and Manchster may have 2 teams, but they have a populace far greater than Newcastle and Sunderland put together), when clubs draw such numbers, inevitably some will be the type to look for bother, as with any walk of life and any cross reference of society.

The Toon fans as a whole are passionate and a credit to their club, just like us, we both have morons, let's hope this doesn't have a knock on effect to the detriment of all of the magnificent north east fans that follow our clubs with pride, passion and most importantly, good spirits.

It's simple. Going on to the pitch is a criminal offence weather it is "good natured" or not.

Anyone using that expression is trying to sugar-coat the pill, and that includes managers, players or fans.

I agree to an extent, but should we all have been banned for invading the pitch at Plymouth? I think most is good natured, some is violent, last night was a mixture of the two.

The stupid thing is when Newcastle play at Leeds and Sunderland, their trouble makers are going to be more determined to look for trouble because of last night, and if anyone gets a beating it will probably people who either weren't their last night, stayed in their seats or someone who is wrongly mistaken for Newcastle fan by a home supporter.

Stop your bleating on man. You have had chances in the past to be taken seriously and to be engaged in serious debate but you always chose to be a thick mag bell end, thus you are now in my mind at least along with 2 or 3 others Chappaz & Tolling in particular, just a thick mag bell end.

I have no intention of stating it otherwise, or changing my stance with 100% of your posts on here. Post on the barcode board without any comeback but post on here and you will receive the abuse you fully deserve and not only form me as it would seem.

Not the opinion I have picked up off Sunderland supporting friends who have been at the games (both at Sunderland and Newcastle last year). Went to the derbies at SoL between 01/02 season and 07/08 season and the security seemed to get a little bit worse each time as they got more complacent.
