Fans who watch the ball and not the game and hence call our most hard working players lazy. They are the lazy ones.
Fans that think they could play so much more better than the players currently on te pitch.. Also, Shouting abuse at the manager about his poor decisions/Subs!
People who sit behind you for the first time at a game, and when we start singing 'there's only one Markus Liebherr.....walking in a Liebherr wonderland', they ask "why are they singing that? It's not even Christmas."
Not being able to make out the song being played over the tannoy. Or when you can make out the song being played over the tannoy and it's One Direction.
People smoking in the loos. (It STILL happens!) Randoms sitting next to me and telling me how crap we are and how crap x or y player is. If I wanted to know or enter into a conversation I would have answered within the first 10-15 minutes - if I'm ignoring you still by the 60th minute, you're annoying me
How little? I was always very careful with my son but have to admit I've slipped a little He's coming up 13.
Firstly, I sing. Secondly, perhaps they are watching the game, trying to follow the pattern of play or look around the pitch to see what's happening. Going to a football match may mean someone wants to watch a game of football. If singing is the first requirement, join a choir.
Fans who moan about other fans' behaviour. We all pay the same money and we should be able to support our team in the way which suits us best, not that suits other peoples' opinions on how to be a real fan. You want to ask my 86 year old Dad to sing and not to leave early to beat the crush………? Actually, I do get annoyed, I just realised it. I pay for a seat and it annoys me when people stand and I can't see anything without having to stand myself. At St Marys its OK but going away its impossible. So those people who moan about people leaving early because it blocks their view, please remember that your behaviour might also be considered irritating.
New poster here but long time browser, thing that annoys me is people who call the likes of myself "plastic"! I support my team but can't go to every match and have never been to an away match. Not because I don't want to but because I simply cannot afford it! I go when I can afford it but NEVER miss a match on the radio! Imo there is no such thing as a "plastic fan" I'm sure someone will reply to this with some reason I'm a disgrace or pick holes in my grammar/spelling so feel free! Rant over ( quite some first post huh?)
I don't often get annoyed at football, but the moment I hate is when the whole ground goes deathly silent and a little knot of opposition players run towards each other as if in a bad dream. I get a sick empty feeling just thinking about it.
To avoid people leaving early and standing in front of others the seats should have lock down safety barriers like they have with dangerous rides. Might have a few puddles on the floor and some of the more portly persuasion would experience discomfort, but other than that perfect. There is of course the danger that whole rows of seats would be ripped from their moorings if Saints scored.
St_Jonesy welcome to the Saints board.........As in all walks of life there are disagreeable people that don't always understand or choose not to see why are people are different to them. The vast majority of fans by far will understand and accept your dilemma as at some time it will have been the same for most. You come when you can and eventually you will be able to go to away games if you so desire. Don't be put off by some thoughtless comments.
Actually Fran, this season looks like being a bit of a roller coaster ride; you might be on to something
Probably the only thing better at Nottarf than St Marys would be the tannoy system, where I sit it simply couldn't be worse.
Nicola has spent very little on the obvious problems at SMS...I hoped for improvements in the concourse and in the tannoy system. I suppose he had different priorities though with large sums laid out on the team and training ground. Why can you hear announcements so clearly in the toilets, but not in the Kingsland?
