Probably old news but there was a brilliant read on the beeb about Lentini earlier this week. I remember the furore around him with great fondness, and there was a time in his career he was an absolute beast. If you get chance take 5 mins to read it, amd another 20 to have a broader look. There was a reason the 90s were about Italian football, and Lentini is the essence of that. Glorious and horrendous, all in one.

It was a brilliant article. That era seems to be the last of the mavericks that I loved so much before they started to decline in numbers.

Nowadays, you don't get to the top level just on skill. You also have to be a model professional, have supreme fitness and be disciplined enough to play in a tactical system.

I think that's one of the reasons why Khvicha Kvaratshkeilia is so exciting. He just feels like a throwback.

For those who love football history or Italian football, I'd highly recommend the book; Calcio by John Foot. It's full of the great players, the great clubs and the great scandals.

I have read Calcio mate. It is tremendous. Kvaradona as he is called is one of those players you almost dont want to coach. Just pure talent. This current Napoli team are amazing and I would love to see them win the champions league.

An Essex pub was apparently 'invaded' by six coppers because of a complaint regarding some gollywogs that where behind the bar . . . . an 'offence' that was seemingly a hate crime !
The dolls had been behind the bar for a few years, but they were unceremoniously dropped into a bag and taken away.
What's more incredible is the lunacy of someone actually reporting this as a crime and six coppers turning up to deal with it !
Burgled, mugged etcetera . . . . here's your crime number. Gollywogs (dolls that kids used to play with) behind the bar . . . . :police::police::police::police::police::police:

I seem to recall Carol Thatcher causing uproar amongst the Woke Brigade.

On TV, she mentioned in passing that she had been very fond of her 'Gollywog Doll' as a child.

As Mr Greaves was fond of saying, 'It's a funny old World',

Trump has some fanatical supporters in the UK which is even stranger imo. He and Boris seem to attract people who value 'charisma' over honesty and integrity. It's as if they latch onto someone, declare their devotion then are incapable of seeing they were wrong.

It's staggering to still hear people, interviewed in the street or on phone-ins, saying 'Boris was the best PM this country has ever had.' Even ignoring Churchill there have been plenty of PM's from all sides who've kept the ship steady and governed through relatively peaceful periods and prosperity.

I have someone saying they're taking me to court for firing a shotgun over their heads <laugh>

The adjacent field is rented to a local shepherd and it's lambing time. Two days running we've had a woman walking a dog off the lead and it's chased the livestock.

I shouted a warning, that she heard and ignored, so I fired a warning shot and said I'd kill the dog if it came back.

So now I'm a 'horrible man and will be getting a solicitors letter' ... oops!
