Driving past Roker Retail park before and see "Farm Foods" lit up. Back in the day, you would visit the Retail park for Kwiksave or What everyone wants" during the day, but on a Saturday night, the ONLY reason to go there was to Blockbuster Video, the smell of popcorn and carpet as you walked in. Hunting for something to rent... if the blockbuster video box wasn't under the main title box... touch ****. Rent and old film, back in 3 days with it, rent a new release, you had 24 hours and the clock was ticking from the second your membership was scanned.
Been listening to Flashman audiobooks recently, great stuff. I read the books ages ago but I'd forgotten how entertaining and laugh out loud funny they are. Refreshing to hear something so wildly un-PC these days too. This is the first one in the series, top drawer reader really nails the character:
Bloody wish the Welsh FA were the ones investigating Man City... Pontypridd United: Cymru Premier club face potential 141-point deduction after FAW probe -
I see the high crown pub in Chester le street are at it again They got windows smashed a few months ago for posting advertisements for the toon game all over threre windows And ignored sunderland Well they now advertised toon match tomorrow and free food at half time No mention about the sunderland match However we all know what some idiots are capable of doing Maybe theve no windows inn again
Gordon was down to injury, he'd all but retired at one point due to injury after leaving iirc was coaching before getting back into playing? Before injury he was excellent and it was obvious to see why we paid so much for him! Davis on the other hand couldn't handle the pressure, didn't he even say something along the lines of he didn't enjoy it at Sunderland cause football meant to much! Maybe with Steel he couldn't handle the situation team was ****e, club was ****ed top to bottom and just wrong environment for him to get any confidence or form going?
I skipped just to watch Jack Clarke. He is a great player but my god he isn't the brightest bless him
Attended a Niall Quinn talk in tonight down Houghton. Some cracking stories. The place went up when Milan took the lead Superb night.
Love this kind of stuff when you get to see the players in a different light and having some fun away from the training and matches
Dodds manager of the week but no players in the team (Pritchard has 3 assists in 2 games) Also 3 Leicester players in defence despite conceding 2 last night.
I finally blew tonight watching the father of Owen Carey, the lad who died from eating 'dairy' at a fast food joint, laying the blame. "Owen Carey, who had a dairy allergy, was celebrating his 18th birthday in London when he collapsed in April 2017." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49675943 I kept my mouth shut when the girl died on a flight to Nice after eating a sandwich, with sesame seeds, she'd bought from an airport shop. They're always shoving sesame seeds on ffs, everyone knows that, like the gherkins they bung in burgers that no one wants.. "A father whose 15-year-old daughter with severe food allergies died after eating a baguette from Pret a Manger has told an inquest that the food chain is to blame for its failure to list allergens." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49675943 Instead of blaming food companies for having ingredients in their food why not take responsibility and avoid cheap options if they may kill you. We all know food and drink contain a multitude of ingredients so surely it's up to us to take care. Many wines contain animal byproducts but vegans happily guzzle it down because it suits them as just one example of the hypocrisy. If the girl was so much at risk why not take control, do what I do and make some sarnies for the journey. If I go out for a meal, with Mrs Smug, she'll order something that couldn't possibly contain gluten, to which she has a serious allergy. It's too easy to always blame suppliers imo, I can't abide cucumber so I make sure my salads and sandwiches don't have any. I sympathise with people's loss but, ffs, if you're so much at risk don't expect to have a nanny on your shoulder watching out for you.
It’s the hidden allergens that are the nightmare. Cooked in peanut oil, chicken that was marinated in dairy. Not arguing that people shouldn’t take control and responsibility for their diets when have allergies, but I’m all for having food outlets put the allergens on the menus. Life can be a bit crap for allergy sufferers and I really don’t think it’s a huge ask for a restaurant or cafe.
