Thierry seems like such a 'big character' in this team, he must be a little intimidating. But I think that just goes to show our current side are a punch of pansies. In 2003-2004 we had players like Vieira, Pires, Berkamp, Keown all big personality's and all capable of getting 'stuck in' in order to see out a result. It's a cliche but watching Thierry last night reminded me how true it actually is.
To be fair to him after the hand-ball incident he went straight over to there players after the game to do what appeared to be saying sorry and even said it should be a replay afterwards. If you handball or foul in a game and it doesn't get called you play on until the whistle goes - thats all he did and he then felt bad for it after!
You obviously do not have any Irish connections then. Yes I think up until the 'handball' incident TH was a legend and the definition of 'cool' but like Maradona he will now always be tainted by being a cheat. Its tough, for Gooners I'm sure the incident will be glossed over but not for neutrals however.
it pains me to note that even after getting pushed over the corner, trying to waste time, he still had to kick the guy who had got away with the ball.
Yeah he has fight in him - he is a competitor. He took the ball down to the corner and when he lost it he was annoyed with himself and wanted it back. Was hardly a bad kick was it - nothing dangerous about it. But fair play it was a kick and he shouldn't of done it - but it didn't cause a problem so no worries! What i loved about Henry was after the goal how he controlled the team. Made them hold there shape and close out the game. We need players like him at the club (his attitude and experience).
Total legend!!! He can be very useful to us over the next couple of months. Bring him on in the last half an hour of a game and he should be OK fitness wise, maybe he can show some of our other players how to finish from the wing! Imagine Henry AND RVP bearing down on goal against a set of tired defenders!!
Was just watching back all of his goals and you really appreciate how good a finisher he was and how calm his is in front of goal, alot of our players can learn from this but henry is easily the best finisher the premier league has ever seen, his accuracy when placing his shots is sublime and if he does get in any one-on-one positions then he will score a few more for us.
Henry is a Legend, and the finish typical of him. But what really amazes me about it when you think about the context of that finish, Arshavin and Ramsey had been blazing the ball over the bar all night, I think Ashavin even hit the corner flag on one occassion, they were all trying to belt the ball so hard it would end up breaking the net. Then Henry gets his chance and he rolls it slowly and calmly in to the corner, he makes scoring look so flippin easy. Why cant the others do that!! I hope Theo was paying attention.
They showed Henry talking to Theo on the bench. It very much looked like Henry was explaining to Theo what a player should do in different situations. I hope it was that anyway.
TERRY HENRY! How ****in' happy did he seem after scoring! normally he has a nice little kinda moody celebration, but last night he just looked like he wanted to run around screaming ****INN YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and jump up and hug every single arsenal fan 1 by 1! My united supporting mate said last night he's scared of arsenal now with Henry.
