We have Rafa, they don't. That's the main difference. Nobody in this piss pot of a league comes close to him. Even the majority of PL managers are nowhere near his capabilities.

It's funny how the press has fuelled all this focus on our funds this season. Last time we were in the Championship lots of clubs loved us being there. It made their season. I remember fas from Plymouth, Swansea, Peterborough and many others having great banter. Aside from some idiots from Forest the atmosphere inthis league was great last time.

All it takes nowadays is a couple of biased pundits on TV, some newspaper 'stories'' and numpties on Twitter and then nobody can see beyond the money.

By the way folks, that money has come from spending most of the last 20+ years on the top flight. Plus we have a reputation that still attracts players - especially while we have Rafa as manager. Take Ritchie for instance -plenty of other Championship clubs could have afforded him, but that doesn't mean he would have joined them.

I'm just enjoying seeing us winning and having fun again. Don't care what The haters and jealous folk think or say.

They are year on year which is exactly my earlier point. We have bought the league, its nothing to be ashamed of. All it shows is the club has been reasonably well run in certain aspects which meant A. Relegation didn't cripple us like it did say Leeds or Portsmouth B. We didn't implode as a club or weren't held together by a thread a la Villa

Clearly some things were right at the club that we were able to spend the money to get us out and things were not horrific behind the scenes so the manager has been able to do his job.

Mike Ashley won't even buy himself a decent shirt, so I'm going to disagree

The daft get will probably try and do it on a shoestring next year. He likes the money and exposure of the PL. I don't think he gives a **** about doing great things. We will likely be in for a few years of lower mid table to relegation battles before we drop again. Groundhog day. This is what makes me laugh about "well we need these positions so for these guys"

Reality is more likely we'll do just enough to survive, Rafas toys will fly out the pram, we will make very little progress.

He will deliberately piss Rafa off do he leaves and he can employ another vegetable that wants to simply get paid and win nothing

Spot on for as long as we have Ashley. Despite whatever he says, he is simply not the kind to invest in success, just PL survival at minimum cost - with regular flirtations with relegation.

Its wonderful we all just accept this isn't it? I suppose its the thing Keegan pinpointed - we all know the club will outlast Mike barring him doing something unthinkable.

Off topic I think its thick as mince the way we hate success in this country. This whole Jess Varnish/British Cycling reports thing just pisses me off. They are basically saying Brailsford has too much power etc etc. Varnish was punished for speaking out against the coaching team so its obviously a dictatorship. Am I the only one thinking so ****ing what? We have finally found a sport and person willing to be hard nosed enough to breed winners and become the best. The minute we do we get all PC and British, giving credence to Varnish and a few disaffected others while there are 3 times as many happy with the system. Their support for the likes of Brailsford and Sutton is swept away. Its the criticism of being driven - i.e. are you willing to be a team player and accept decisions you don't always agree with? Are you willing to accept a brutal regime to ensure that the team ends up the best?

I'm not saying if there has been any sexism etc its ok. However we now seem intent on dismantling a regime which has made us the best. We seem to want to dilute the power of a guy in Brailsford who has taken a sport in this country to the pinnacle. This country sucks at times. Do we want to win or not?

First thing I remember about this was her moaning about being bullied and told her arse was too fat to be a top cyclist, when I was a kid back in the 60's and 70's I played Rugby, Football and Cricket amongst other sports, the way we were treated by schools and clubs would have someone in jail today, it didn't hurt anyone in the long run though, if anything I think it made us tougher and more reliant on our own abilities to get on with life rather than looking for someone else to blame when we don't get what we want.
