Fryatt ! We play him up front on his own , even though it fails to work . I think he needs a big un along side him. Trouble is we don't have anyone . If we can hang on to our better players and bring a couple of tall ones in I think we would be fine .. No point in us having a corner as we never look like scoring from them . Then again I'm no manager and no doubt Nicky Barmby knows what needs to be done in the summer.. We sure have missed a great chance of going up this season and all for the lack of goals . Still there's 21 points still up for grabs and anything could happen . For what it's worth I think Nigel Pearson and his back room staff did a great job at Hull City and with your money he will get you into the premier league .

really pisses me off the way most hull fans talk about him- look at your squad now and the value, and the money spent. The likes of Hobbs, Chester, Stewart could bring in millions if you ever went into trouble, and are only going to get better. He has put togather a great young squad with a fantastic work ethic- im sure you will be fine in years to come and when you do go up you will have a good young squad as a base and will be ready.

Think yo make some very good points - always thought Fryatt was a good technician lacking a bit of opace and agree he would probably get more goals if paired with a bigger man - we paired him with Ian Hume .. enough said ... we got relegated.

In terms of corners I share your frustration but for different reasons - we could be a real threat if we could manage to get the ball past the first defender and higher than a couple of feet off the dewck - I'm not going to name names GALLY!!!!!!!

Then got promoted by playing with the bigger man - Sir Steve Howard.

It's clear that goals get you out of this league. We got relegated with the (if not one of) best set of defenders in the league yet Fryatt, Hume, Howard up front who couldn't score to save their lives.

One positive thing that I noticed from the game against Florest was Bamba. I thought he looked good in that role, breaking up play with some good tackles. I think he won 3 in a row at one point before getting play moving again.

Oooh, I'm sorry I rushed my typing. Does it make you feel better for you to be able to correct someone....

Somma playing all season will easily get you 15-20 goals, he's always in the right position and almost ghosts into position without people realising, as I said he is the best finisher of all strikers discussed on this thread but he lets himself down by being lazy

But for Keogh not to score despite him doing more for the team than McCormack, that is just not good enough... <laugh>

WHenever i've seen SOmma i've thought he looks pretty average. Can tell he has some ability but never really looks pectacular. I think Leeds, Leicester, West Ham and Southampton porbably have the best strikers in the league difference is you need a great midfield unit for them to really show there worth. Thats why Southampton have been soo good. There midfield is such a good unit. Hopefully this is something we can develop next year. Find our own Lallana and we ae sorted. ALthough theres probably about 10 clubs that could say that.

Well we kind of have our own Lallana in Snodgrass but our defence is our weak link and has been for a while, a new quality CB is needed and we need someone quality to play alongside Clayton as well though and I think we probably wouldn't be too far away

Yeah Snodgrass is pretty good just not been as consistent. I doubt his centre mids have supported him as much as southamptons must have supported Lallana. I would think a good combatative centre mid as well for you guys too. Prevent the blips Leeds seem to sometimes have i.e. Forest. Im not really an expert on you guys tbf though.

Snodgrass goes through spells of about 6 or 7 games where you think he is by far the best player in the league and then does nothing really for about 5 or 6 games. As you say a bit inconsistent but then he is often played through injury which ruins people's view on him. If we have any want of getting promoted a good CM in the summer is a must, the defence may take priority though.

Can you guys see yourselves having a similar team next year with a few tweaks or having a huge summer of buying loads of players like last summer? With a manager that hasn't had a summer yet it may be hard to tell

He will look pretty average, then do this:

Or just skip the rubbish and do it with his first touch:

I would say most would expect only a few tweaks with porbably more going out then coming in. We will get rid of the dead wood and probably just sign players 2 or 3 players i would say. Most seem to think we need another winger and maybe a creative AM with just a couple fringe players in certain positions. GK, full backs, maybe another striker.

I think a large part of how we get on next season will be deciding on centre back pairing and then just working on our midfield unit. Our centre back pairings seem to change every week. I cant make my mind on our best pair. Morgan, St Ledger, Mills and Bamba, if Tunchev wasn't past it he would be my only certainty.

I've definatley got high hopes for next season though.

Leeds will do well next season just a couple of buys and you should be sorted.

That last one is very nice. He does tend to do quite well with his first touch in games

Lallana is a massive player for Southampton. At home we couldnt handle him and only an inspired display from Kasper Schmeichel got us the win

At their place he didnt play and they was poor and lacklustre and we easily beat them

Cut off Lallana and you stand a decent chance of getting a result

We played em at elland road and he was injured. We completely outplayed em but an unbelievable display from Davis meant they won. Looking back on it is just depressing we didn't win
