Ratings -

Sels - 5 - Good in the air, average distribution and kicking, some sloppy first moments.

Agreed and didn't command the box but early days.

Janmaat - 4 - Some good physical defending, but worrying poor reading of the game and positioning. Same stupid attitude problem as last season also.

Also suggested he might be able to work with Ritchie given time and if he stops.

Lasceless - 6 - Quite solid, but maybe could have done more to prevent that goal.

Not maybe, should have. Still young though and still learning but needs to learn fast.

Hanley - 5 - Bang average really. Stupid yellow card.

Didn't really stand out. Not as commanding as I anticipated he would be.

Dummett - 3 - Looks just as **** in the CC as in the PL.

Very poor. Not helped much by Aaron's when he came on.

Hayden - 4 - Didn't make a mark on the game at all.

Think Hayden did alright but faded in second half when Fulham came into the game more.

Colback - 4 - ****ty needless fowls, headless chicken.

Not sure what exactly he brings to the team. He doesn't push the game forward and seems happy to boost his Opta stats on passing but always square or backwards.

Anita - 7 - Some really decent runs and good passing and vision. Also good defending.

Useless when out on the wing. Contributed nothing. Better in the middle but he will never boss a game.

Perez - 5 - Some good moments, but let himself down with final touches. Drifted away towards the end.

Drifted away from kick off never mind towards the end. Big disappointment.

Ritchie - 6 - Good work rate and physicality. Some half decent balls in. Looks potentially very good.

Promising and easily MOM for us. Faded a bit towards the end. Needed someone else to step up and play with.

Gayle - 4 - Really disappointed. Don't know where he went. Was expecting him to be running defences ragid.

Agree disappointing but needed help against Fulham defence which he didn't get.

Aarons - 4 - Some decent runs, but missed a good chance. Looked a bit lazy IMO.

Never in it. No end product.

Armstrong - 5 - Good work rate, but didn't have much of an impact.

Seemed keen and tried to pick things up but never quite managed it.

Shelvey - 4 - Looks uninterested.

Disagree. Did seem interested but not given the time to have an impact. Did seem to get dragged into a "handbags" session with Fulham players as the game died in the last few minutes.

Rafa - 5 - Will probably be a learning curve. I see what he tried to do but I don't know if his 4-2-3-1 with a smaller striker will work against defensive sides.

Needs Mitro back as Gayle didn't seem suited to the lone striker role and needed more physical help.

MOTM - Anita was the only one making significant impact so I'd say him. A bit worrying if a makeshift fullback is your best threat....
