the manager rediscovering his clue you mean? He must have had a clue in the past?

It is a strange sight to see United fans slagging off their manager. Not happened for 20 years. The last time was when fergie nearly got the sack... To be fair the crowd at OT has in the main stayed loyal.

Dogs are loyal. Dogs shouldnt be managers.

Fergie was a winner. His loyalty doesnt matter, he was our manager for so long because he was a winner.

Dan Burn - "I've not headed the ball as much since playing in the Conference"...Moyes and his conference style cross it tactics, brilliant.

Relax people! The moment the Glazers see how much this is costing them, they would say "to hell with Fergie's choice! Give me a world class Manager!!".

For those saying there are no managers available.. This United we are talking about! Most managers would die to be the manager of United. Especially knowing they couldn't do any worse than David Moyes. United could even tempt Jose out of Chelsea. Better believe IT!

The bottom line is that fergie was given time at the beginning of his time at OT because he had already shown himself to be a winner with Aberdeen - wtf has Moyes got to show - nothing. Fans were cautious to see how SAF would fare when he came in from Scottish football, plus he set about rebuilding from the basis of a crap squad of drinkers and malcontents - that's the difference. Moyes has come into the PL winning team from the season before and completely effed it up. Moyes doesn't need any more time to show that he is clueless - where do people think he's going to get his divine inspiration and winning gameplan/mentality from - it's simply not in his locker.

He can't take us anywhere else but down, he has the wrong backroom team and the wrong mentality. If we need further proof of just how useless he is - look at Everton without him.

Exactly. He did well with Everton to a point but they ultimately never won anything and got knocked out in the qualifiers the one time he did make top 4 (and with the current rules he wouldn't have even been allowed into the qualifiers with Liverpool winning the C.L that year). He also had an appalling record v the bigger sides; especially away from home which shows he simple hasn't got the tactical ability needed at the top level.

It was a risky appointment that has in hindsight been shown to be a bad one. He should not be given the summer to waste United's money, but I hope he does!

Also when SAF came, it was just the winners of the league that went into the euro cup, but that soon ended for some reason!!!1.
So SAF had the time to build up a winning team.

In this time, its hit the ground running or on your bike.

Your point about the CL qualification is moot, as under the PL rules at the time, it was Liverpool who didn't qualify not us, we finished 4th, which was a magnificent achievement by Moyes at that point in time. The fact that we then drew Villarreal (who went on to get to the semi's that year) added to the fact that they brought Collina back to referee the away leg (his last ever game btw....) & we had a perfectly good goal chalked off.....whilst the RS were drawn against some Welsh sheep farmers & Lithuanians..............still haunts Blues....

His record against the Sky 4 at home, was decent btw, it was only away where we struggled & that was largely down to mindset as opposed to tactics.

It definitely was not a crap squad. Drinkers, yes. Crap, no.

We can all draw reasons as to why things did or did not transpire but fact remains he's won nothing of note in his whole career when teams like Swansea, Birmingham, Wigan, Portsmouth have all won trophies in that time. Many lesser teams (than Everton) won games at the 'sky 4' and Everton's failure can't be down to just 'mindset'. The point re the C.L is true but Im just pointing out that finishing 4th doesn't even guarantee C.L footie now like it did then. His CV would look even worse had the rules been then what they are now.

The job he was required to do at Everton was completely different to that now required at United and anyone could see it was a major risk.

If you think about it for a second, you will realise that when a team is at the top, the only way is down. Yes, you could have hoped for United to win the title again. But with an ageing squad, without Fergie motivating them, it was always going to be an uphill task. Yes, may be it is indeed worse and more down than expected. It was always fanciful for any one to expect the era of United as the dominating force to continue UNINTERRUPTED by the retirement of the greatest domestic manager ever.

Yeah mate & 3 of them went down as well like.......

He took us from relegation candidates to top 6 regulars on a net transfer spend of £10m in 11 years.......he consistently out performed EVERY other PL manager, who operated on anything like a similar budget. The talk of his record at the Sky 4 is pure nonsense, as they were operating on a completely different level to us financially & we had no right to expect to pitch up there & walk off with 3 points.

None of which made him the right man for United imo, but to say he had no credentials because he never lifted the Mickey Mouse is a bollocks argument

He was great for Everton, but after reading your statement, it dawned on me that Moyes is a man for a small club with little expectation. It's like in business. There are managers who are great with small business but always fail when the expectation becomes too daunting.
