Like us, he wants the club to be a success. This is why he sold £47m worth of HL shares in 2009 and told the stock market that it was to fund the new stadium at Ashton Vale. If you had listened, his long stated position is that when he does eventually step away from the club, it will have no crippling debt and will be self-sustaining which is why we need the off field income which is clearly going to be much more than you are thinking indeed, I am attending a non football event at AG next week - so no, he does NOT want to recoup his investment. That is of course unless he gets pissed off with us lot battering him all the time and says **** it, I want it back - people would do well to remember what happened to Bristol Rugby when they didn't own their own stadium. That said, something needs to happen quick here or we are going down....
Im Sure he can understand the fans concerns, especially after what he said last season, regards another promotion tilt. Im sure he is more peed of by the people he has running the club on his behalf.
That much is probably true of some individuals but he is clearly getting bad advice about the sort of players we should be recruiting RIGHT NOW. Overall, the philosophy is not too bad however we should be bringing our young hungry prospects into a successful side not that most of ours stand much chance because all we seem to do is slag them off (Reid and Burns) before they have played more than a dozen games. However, we tried to do things on the cheap in the summer and when you do that, it usually comes back to bite you in the ass and at the end of the day, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE and that is what we desperately need now. 3 or 4 battle hardened warriors who will roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to help us out of this mess. WE MUST TAKE WHATEVER MEASURES IT TAKES TO STAY IN THIS DIVISION The experience thing is true for all trades these days and this country has got about 1, maybe 2 more generations to go before the lack of skills is a MAJOR problem.
Too late already I fear. We know we screwed up titanically last Summer, but you'd have thought that enquiries for players would have been made before this window opened ? But it appears not. Still find it hard to comprehend that we had to settle for a Division 3 keeper. Does no Premiership Team have a keeper we could have taken on loan that could benefit from some Championship experience ? Most Prem teams will have 5 or so keepers.
I don't think anybody's asking the right questions, if any at all. Sounds eerily familiar and deja-vu to me regrettably.
