I go on a lot of the off topic threads to talk about all sorts of stuff but then I don't slate twitter I find posting pictures of your children on twitter rather odd, they don't have a say in it [naturally] but more importantly why do you want people you don't know looking at your [what I consider private] pictures of your family. FB I kind of get because that's more about keeping in touch with your family and friends who you maybe don't see and it saves on multiple emails [or so I'm told ]
Lol yes...and another point is the anonymity of this site comes at a price. We agree to moderate our free speech when we sign up. If we break it we get banned.
especially when those photos contain embedded geolocation data You need to turn it off on your phone or the images get the tags, and anyone can plot your kids movement from photos, from home to school and where ever else images are taken with the feature on before being uploaded to FB ot twitter or any other site #creepy
Not everyone does that. There are some that do and it is widely seen as that is what everyone does but its not like that at all. Often, its piss taking stuff like you'd see on here.
Closing facebook is the best thing I have done in years. It's a sad world when facebook is your interface to reality for 10 hours a day
incorrect, it is facebook that makes them abnormal. My Mrs has a serious facebook twitter illness. I swear it's a fcukin melt, I've only really noticed it since I quit social media, media in general too. These people feel the same logging in after hours of not being able to, as smokers do when they get a *** after hours without one
I have both although I've not been on twitter for months. I go on Facebook just about every day (probably a grand total of about 15mins on average though) but rarely post something on my timeline. I have quite a few things I follow plus mates etc are on there so there is plenty of banter too.
Honestly mate, I have friends on facebook, everytime they go to the pub "So and So is at [location] with So and So" Then a picture of the meal they had. Then a couple of photos of them with their friends at said location. Then they get home "So and So is watching Roadhouse" (for example) with a comment "A classic". Then 3 hours later "Can't sleep. Feel like ****." Then a photo "Ahh Night nurse". So I know that this person went to a pub, who he went with, what he had for dinner, what time he got home, what film he watched when he got home, what time he went to bed, what medication he is taking. This happens daily. And this is a person I haven't seen in the flesh for maybe 4-5 years....... Its madness.
It is creepy. Some of us have told RHC not to be so free with his info but he doesn't seem to care so that's his choice but any snippet of info can lead people to your children's place of work or other stuff you're not even aware of.
If this is what 10hrs a day on Twitter can do to a person it should have a public health warning. "Matthew @carrick_fan @Bxstxrd Me sensitive ? go and piss on a cat you dog shagging nonce"
