Anyone else who watched that semi final must agree we might never get a better chance to get a result at OT.
Utd are a shambles and moyes must be clinging onto his job by a thread.
 
I guess there are two ways of looking at this - yes I agree you couldn't have wished for a better time to play them. However your game against them now becomes so important for them to make sure they get the 3 points. I therefore expect them to be so up for it - mind you I thought the same about their game tonight! If you can get the early goal then who knows what might happen,
 
Mata's a good player but Utd have loads of them already. Their first team squad has 18 players would all walk straight into our side. It's why we're loaning 1 or 2 reserves and they'll go straight into our first team.

However their confidence is shot. They sat and waited for Sunderland to come back for an hour yesterday. They have no leaders and are quickly becoming a side that expects things to go wrong.

It's still a massive ask to get a result at OT, but it's a long way from the fortress it was last season. Man City was a write off only JCK saw anything other than the certain defeat. Utd are obviously favourites for the game but here's a chance to get 1 or even 3 of the points back that we've thrown away at home recently.
What I am excited about is that our best chance is to play with confidence and have a calculated go like Sunderland did. We tried similar at MC but were overwhelmed by Toure in particular, a similar performance at OT on Tuesday could well see us get something.

A point would be an excellent starting point for our crucial Feb fixtures.
 
The only thing not in our favour is the fact that they've been so bad they are out of the FA cup as well so now have a week without a game before they play us. I'd forgotten about that and was thinking that extra time last night and a game on Saturday would mean they are knackered before we play. Hey ho.

Not sure we'll win, but a draw is a definite possibility.

I've had my ticket lined up for a couple weeks and as time goes by my Manure mate who got me the ticket is becoming more and more nervous. Looking forward to it. I've had loads of offers for tickets at OT over the years and declined them all, waiting for the time WE played there. Hope the wait won't be in vain.

Had to use up a **** load of brownie points to get a pass out for the game. It's my daughter's birthday as well. I'm having to take her out for posh nosh lunchtime so I can go.
 
Go there for a point like Mackay would have done and City would be overrun.
Go there for a win as OGS has to do and you never know..........WBA, Newcastle, Everton and the little neighbours have won there this season.
Moyes knows their only chance of Europe is getting into top 4 so will put out an attacking team surely which may allow Noone and Mutch to run at will.
OGS, please please do not play Whittingham, he is too slow. Give Eikrem a chance form the off.
 
Four points under Malky against the Manchester clubs. It would be great for Ole to get three more, but I'd be more than happy to take a cheeky point at OT while they are missing key players.
 
Jesus 4 point from the Manchester clubs...how we would have swapped that for a lot more points against clubs we should have beaten.

It now leaves us in a position where it does not matter who we play we need to win, if we cannot lose the game before we kick off then we must be able to win it that is the logic.

We cannot go to Man Utd looking for a draw we have to go looking to win.

Appreciate the sentiments and thought process behind your thread title Stevo, but just coming away with a point would be mega.

The right approach from Ole would be a start, nevertheless they have plenty of players who can hurt you available to select and eager to do well.

Being off bottom spot by next Tuedsay night would be a huge boost for everyone. It is possible but as always, it depends on other results. Still think we'll be bottom of the pile going into the Norwich game - that one and the Jack game after is going to point the way of things.
