Great place... went North 1st time (Varedero) - a great wee town near the resort (Metanzas) and went to Havana! This time, down South of the Island (Holiguin) ... Peopel are really friendly!
Just over £2k for two weeks 4* and premier seats on plane (free drink n more leg room/10 hour flight) ...an amazing deal! Honeymoon was a 5* place - bro paid for it as my gift - that was clsoer to £3.5K.
What? it wasn't a great wee town at all. It was like Elgin with a wee bit of steroids. But yes to the south.
I thought about going there before than to Bahamas/Puerto Rico and into the states but was told going into there after Cuba will cause a **** load of hassle.
I liked it ... aye, a ****in dump but I liked a few of the bars n a great wee grill place! They said it was beef but I suspect it was donkey! Havana is amazing! They have done up a section like it was 18th Century but teh modern bit is untouched since the 50s .. a hovel! Heard the areas aroudn the resort in Holiguin are nicer.
