This was the season where we needed him to show his quality, but he's fallen well short. He has had a long run in the team but has failed to live up to expectations. The same can be said for OXO too. Walcott's stats this season: Prem - Played 22, scored 4, assisted 3. Overall in all games he has played 33 and scored a total of 6 and 6 assists. Since the last 11 Prem games, he has only scored 1 and no assists. This is terrible form and he should be lucky to be anywhere near the first team. OXO's performance data reads for even more depressing viewing, in the Prem he played 22 and only scored 1 and assisted 1. His overall stats was played 33, scoring 2 and assisting 2. DIre stats. Sorry but scoring 4 goals in 22 games when you have the best playmaker in the world in Ozil is p1ss poor in so many way. Trying to defend him is poor indeed.
Actually disagree with most. Walcott has Top Class potential. He has already shown he can score 20+ goals from a wide position.(which puts him amongst the best wide players out there) Theo ALWAYS needs a run of games to hit sny kind of form. Something he's not really been given.
I will say this though. Joel Campbell has been superb this Season and it made NO SENSE for Wenger to drop him. He should be starting every game for us at the moment.
Theo has played ten seasons for us. He's only ever got into double figures for goals in the premier league once. And that was when he got 14. That was also the season he scored 5 goals in two carling cup games, which took his total tally to 21 from 43 games. He's never even got close to 20 in any other season. I assume that one season is him 'showing he has top class potential' that you refer to? Is doing that once in 10 seasons really showing top class potential? Or is it a flash in the pan?
