Seen various things about him being turfed out of the Arsenal squad in the summer, IF we were to go up to the premier league, do you think it would be worth a shot at trying to get him back ? Our dear Mr Cortese will help get the best deal for us I'm sure.

Personally, I'd love to see him back at Saints one day.

I wouldn't pay more than 4-5m, to be honest.
Seems to always be lacking confidence, doesn't use his pace to take players on nearly almost enough and his final ball into the box is generally poor.
A less technically gifted & less intelligent Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Buttt.. Having said that, Adkins could be the man to pick his confidence up and get him back to his best! If he did, the partnership of Lambert & Walcott upfront (I wouldn't play him on the right) would be a classic little and large pairing!

He left too early, and he hasn't reached the potential he would have done had he stayed longer

I understand that the introduction of OXO, at Arsenal, has given Walcott a shot in the arm, and for the last few games where the pair have been involved Walcott has become increasingly effective. The lad is learning again.

Walcott would fetch a high price if he came on the market. Probably more than we'd pay bearing in mind that Adkins and Cortese have no sentimental attachment to him so would judge his purchase on its merits.

This sounds like a pretty baseless rumour to me.

I'd take him though, provided we played him as a striker he would be a very useful player.

He would cost more than what we sold him for so no chance of us getting him

Play him up front in a team in the mid-lower end of the Prem and he'd rip it up.

He is and never was a winger. Yes, he has pace but its put to much better use up front.

If he left arsenal. Would it be considered failure of player or failure of manager??

reminds me so much of danny wallace(wallace could cross though), total revalation when played up front. theo seems to think this is his best position- so he may want a move. theo is lethal one on one both with defender and keeper.just because a payer is quick,it does not make them a winger, i believe he is in the same boat as daniel sturrige. if he moved it would be to a team like sunderland- an established premier club with a great manager and money and ambition, if we go up i think adkins will want to test his squad before buying

Would be one of the best signing ever for Southampton if we got him.Adkins would know how to get the best out of him and with less expectations on him he would perform much better than he did at Arsenal.
Fantastic player.Play him as a striker not a winger,as he plays far better as a striker.
