I saw Beckham at United pretty much single handedly turn a game against Real Madrid which we ended up winning 4-3. Possibly one of the rare occasions Fergie made a mistake not to start him.
At Real Madrid he was credited for being the most influential player in winning their league title during his time there.
Either way you don't achieve what he has on the football pitch by being just a 'brand', but if you choose to believe it, that's up to you.
