I won't blame him for it. His job isn't to sign players. Personally I'd prefer a player we can't shift who'll fight for their place than a player we can't shift who'll sulk and make occasional whines on Twitter slagging off all and sundry. That's the choice if we can't shift him. Fair play to the guy. He shouldn't be here but not his fault. If his wage is too high to sell to WBA or Fulham string up Purslow and Hodgson. Let's not forget he was signed last summer when we were in a very bad away and probably having trouble getting players to agree to sign for us. Last summer we looked like Tom and George's unsellable plaything - yeah, we were Poulsen - and if we didn't want a bar of T&G why should any player? Hence the big wage for those players who did come in. Sheesh, even Jovanovic was having second thoughts about coming to us. Jovanovic snubs Liverpool! How about them apples? Yeah but we're trying to sell you so everybody hates you and it's all your own fault. And now you're picking yourself in the team! Bloody hell! How do we shift this guy? Somebody must want him!
hell some of you guys on here need to lighten up.I have had this conversation before...look up the word IRONY.Of course the riots are worse news..there are lots of worse things than Paulson staying..but it was meant ironically!!!!!!!!and the other question is..if he is putting the effort in now what has he been doing for the last year.Would you feel the same if Konchesky was still here? We are stuck with not only Paulson but El zhar and Degen look like they are going nowhere too.How does this benefit Liverpool? It just draws on Liverpools resources and possibly stops us buying another decent player or 2.Perhaps we should do a buy 1 get 2 free offer.
I don't hate Poulsen, and it's fair to say he puts everything into playing for us. Sadly though the level he plays at is not good enough and he should be respectfully shown the door.
It isn't really Irony, had you used the title "The Worst News Possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" but actually felt the news was in fact "good news" then it would be an ironic narrative. It's just an excessive statement from it's literal term.
Maybe so but the thread was meant tongue in cheek.Given the way we take sport so seriously and some on here take these threads too seriously as well, the fact Paulson was staying would be classed as terrible news (for liverpool fans, in the world of sport) but compared to what else goes on in the world its an irrelevance. Some seemed to think I was giving it more significance than the riots for example (most didn't and are able to comment without getting stressed) when obviously i wasn't. Anyway, its still sh*t news whatever way you take it!
Yes it is. To be honest I think he could still go, I don't know if there are still links with the likes of Copenhagen etc but there's time.
