<laugh> No, you certainly wouldn't, KS, but he certainly is prone to it, maybe not over 3-miles. Take a video check on some of his races over his career.

Just been going through this race, and without wanting to be to negative this is a terrible renewal. If Annie Power was to run I'd lump on at 4/1, as she would have no problems beating this load of donkeys. I'm struggling to understand why she is running in the mares hurdle when this race looks very easy for her.

Of the others Zarkandar has the best form in the book, and I've never been a big fan of him, but he may have to get the nod here. His 4th in last seasons renewal and his runs in France are probably about the best form on offer. At Fishers Cross was 3rd last year, but his recent runs have been uninspiring.

I hope your right Shergs as I want Zarkandar to win, full stop. Unlike yourself I do like this horse, have done since I first saw him win the JCB back in 2011, and have stuck with him ever since. It might not be the best in terms of who's running in it but don't you think the unpredictability of the race means it gonna be worth watching for that alone...? I have many AP tickets for Zarkandar, all e/w, ranging from 14's down to 8/1 so im hoping for some reward come Thursday afty at least...:emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:

Your right Swanny, he dos seem to turn off for a few furlongs, then pulls his tripe out to get back into it. But he is a real battler if he can get his head infront, point in worth was his win over The New One in the Aintree Hurdle. One of my favs races if im honest...

I for one will be very pleased to see him get over that line first with or without that little 'flat spot'...

Good to see ya back Red! I can't be having a worry of Zarkandar hitting a flat spot over 3 miles at all. Was traveling all over Rev De Sivola at Ascot and was hugely unlucky not to win that day. My concern for him is getting home over the trip.

This is now making me try to remember what chance, if any, I've given him in my festival preview write up lol

I know what you guys mean re flat spots, that's a reason I've never really liked the horse. It's probably because I used to laugh when he used to run in the Champion Hurdle.

I think though he has a good chance here, as his form from last seasons race and from France is arguably the strongest. If he reproduces last years run he will win IMO, as the first 2 More Of That and Annie Power were exceptional unbeaten horses, and aren't running. Whilst At Fishers Cross who was 3rd seems to have lost his way.

I don't buy that he doesn't stay, he's won a French Champion hurdle impressively, and he ran a good race in this last year:biggrin:

Zarkandar isnt a 3 mile hurdler, his class will take him quite far in this division but unlikely winner in my book.

Whisper might have been interesting but I dont like his preperation, ill be looking at the 3 Irish horses, Lieutenant Colonel, Briar Hill, Monskland and maybe Cole Harden if you can forgive his last run. If the ground was good id be leaning towards Briar Hill and Monksland.
