Reflecting on Plym's comments on another thread. I often feel the same way in that the men's game is far far superior to the women's. I watched the final throughout and the more I watch the women's game the more I realise just how inferior it is. More unforced errors, poor serving, less quality tennis and only 3 sets. I rarely watch women's tennis these days.

I remember when women's tennis was competative, where players were closely matched and there were 4/5 players at the very top of their game. Who else remembers the Navratilova v Evert matches? Steffi Graff was class also, then there was Tracey Austin (who came close but never actually won Wimbledon) Jennifer Capriati and there was a Spanish girl who's name escapes me...

It never looked in doubt who the winner was going to be today, world rankings mean nothing at Wimbledon because Serina Williams always looks a far superior player making the others look like also-ran's. I don't think the Polish girl served a single ace - did she? Serina completely outclassed her oponant. The 2nd set was a little more interesting but was really only won because Serina lost concentration for a short while.

Do women get less money than the men? They should do!

I can see why they had he 3 set/5 set when women were seen as the weaker sex. Looking at the Williams girls I would ha ve thought weaker sex is long gone.

Equality should mean same rules and same money, or am I missing the point?

I agree with out. Right now they are paid the same amount for doing less. I dont see how that is equality.

Equality means the same effort for the same reward.....doesn't it ? not the same money for maybe three fifths of the same effort.

Quality and effort........there is not the slightest comparison.
