Ba was sold for £7.5m, and it was widely reported that he personally kept £2m of that fee as per his contract so 5.5, not 8. And we spent more than 5.5 on MYM alone, before you look at Haidara, Sissoko, Debuchy and Goofy who were all bought that same transfer window. So I'm not adding that to the list.

Say we have 'spent nowt'. Are you saying we have got all those players over the summer for free, including two players who went to the world cup, and Ajax's captain? Surely that makes us negotiating geniuses and should be applauded?

We are turning over enough money to by a striker and a creative cm player in my opinion given the additional TV money and that last year's financial report said we made 40 million not taking into account the Cabaye sale.

The last accounts were to June 2013, released in February 2014 and showed an operating profit of £9.9 million, the next set of accounts to June 2014 will not be released until a similar time in 2015 so I don't know where you get the £40 million profit from. Whilst the club will receive increased PL reward money this year I doubt that you take into account that the average salary ratio to revenue in the PL is 70%, there is also the general operating costs associated with running a football stadium and training facailities, the travel and associated accommodation costs for a full squad and support staff for every match, insurance to cover property, public liability, squad and staff and so on.
It is a very simplistic view to think that any club is able to just spend the reward money on players with no other cost consideration involved, like so many you ignore or don't care to understand the background and irrespective of many fans viewpoint this is ultimately a business and has to answer to HMRC and Companies House how it is run and regulated. As you continually afirm, you are always right on these boards, not in the real world though.
