the woeful summer has began

Which is confusing. There is a direct quote from the club about getting the majority of transfer activity done before the World Cup.

 

Though I risk talking to myself here, I see Liverpool have had a £4m bid for Lambert accepted by Southampton. Not saying I'd want Lambert, nor would he come, but it's the 29th May and Liverpool, Swansea (Fabianski), West Ham (Zarate) and the mackems (Billy Jones) have all managed to do something.

 

Not quite talking to yourself, but Fabianski, Zarate and Jones are out of contract players so can join clubs outside the Transfer Window.

Nothing to stop any club making bids for contracted players and agreeing to buy/sell but they can't be ratified until July.

 

Seems to stop our bastad club!!

 

Those clubs have ambition.

Price for Lambert now saying between £7 million and £9 million so it's virtually doubled tonight. See we are supposed to be linked with another Spaniard who has had one season in La Liga and the rest off his career in reserves or Div 2. Seems about our level these days. ( Aleix Vidal )

Liverpool did most of their business early last year too.
Why wait till After the World Cup when the players price could double or treble.
Ps I would not count billy jones as been active for the clowns down the road

 

Apparently Liverpool and Saints are agreeing a higher fee for Lambert but a portion of that is actually part of Lallana's fee so Saints don't have to give so much to Bournemouth. It must feel almost as bad as being a NUFC fan over at St Marys right now. They are losing their minds over on their board at the prospect of all their (very good) players being sold. Lambert has particularly upset them as they didn't see it coming. At least most of our players are a load of dross and we are not fussed either way!

 

The last few days have really started to get this summer moving

Maybe they have! Colback and Perez may be the lot for this summer. Plus we have Ryan Taylor coming back and possibly a rejuvenated Abeid - like two new signings! I can see Pardew's bullshit now:

'We have four superb additions to the squad, at a combined price of £2million - can't say fairer than that can you? We are operating under a tight budget up here and the fans would do well to remember that. In the circumstances I couldn't be happier.'

 

Under 24 hrs till the World Cup starts the time bench marked that we will have all our business done.

2 annual random foreign teenager brought in for a few years to leave as failed to meet the grade - done
- championship next stop.

 

That's if we actually stop there instead of just slowing down a bit as we pass through.

 

Another week gone and no quality brought in yet again

 

I think the quality is all either on holiday or busy in Brazil

 

So nearly the end of June and we are currently up **** creek, no time to get together,no ambition,long struggle ahead with what can only be described as our worse squad/team in over 20 yrs.

 

Definitely a glass half full person if you ask me.
