Just been reading myself we are linked to Smit. Looks a decent talent like but Bayern are sniffing also.
Which areas would you identify as needing a signing? Is there any money available? GK? RW CM and a versatile full back maybe?
Hmmmm I think we're now only going to move fwd my adding players that go straight into the starting 11 imo. Depth is created naturally at the same time. It's easier said than done though.
My top 2 picks would be: Cover at full back (ideally somebody versatile on either flank, as mentioned by others). And a more creative midfielder who offers us something different to the current options. Someone who can open up defences especially against low blocks. I'd also look to keep Ramsdale as I think he could become our #1.
If the rumoured January £65m release clause for Semenyo is true, I’d love to see him here. A huge improvement on Elanga in my opinion.
I agree, but I think we've missed the boat on him. I can't see why he'd chose Newcastle over the big 6. I'm keen to see Newcastle actually finding a few players like Bournemouth Brighton and Brentford have.. Actually Forest also, so perhaps Wilson is the right guy for the job.
Agree it would never happen (largely because of Elanga). Also agree on your second point. Here’s hoping!
What we do need to do is act quickly and get the targets signed without faffing on. A few players that improve the first 11 would be good but also not easy to do with our first 11 being quite good already.
The club have landed 60-year-old scout Thomas Federspiel, who arrives from Nottingham Forest and reunites with Ross Wilson; our new sporting director who played a key role in his arrival from the City Ground. Federspiel started his role earlier this week and comes in as a first team and global talent scout for Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia, highlighting Newcastle’s focus on tapping into the South American markets over the coming years.
