Whatever you do, don't go on the Guardian website and suggest on an article in the comments section that either Federer or Djokovic can beat Murray. They'll lose their **** and accuse you of anti-Scottish racism.

 

At least if you can make Serena scream you'll know that you've earned it.

 

There is definitely an issue there for Sharapova that she needs help with a sport pyschologist or something, her record against Williams is horrific. I turned the match off fairly early as it was clear where it was going.

 

Same. I didn't want to watch my favourite female tennis player lose to Serena again. She looked lost and I actually felt sorry for her. I keep telling myself that she'll come good and beat Serena but I've pretty much accepted that she won't and she probably won't win another Grand Slam until Serena retires.

Murray's two sets down now. Federer could very well win this in straight sets.

 

Great game of tennis, Federer is striking it so cleanly though and I think this will be straight sets. Tough on Murray as he's doing almost everything right, he's just come up against a brilliant player playing to his best.

Muguruza's putting up a good fight against Serena. It will be brilliant if she can come back and win this set. How is it that younger players are less intimidated than older players by Serena? Sharapova beat her when she was 17 and as she's got older she's given Serena way too much 'respect'.

 

A bit like a lamb to slaughter in the end - we'll see more of this young lass no doubt.

 

I was disappointed Radwanska didn't make the final, I thought she would give Williams more to think about, the final just ended up being the big brute battering a younger inexperienced brute instead of a clash of styles. Surely the key to beating Williams is to get the big lummox moving about the court and working hard

 

When Serena retires, Sharapova will feel entitled to step into her shoes as the top female tennis player. She'll have tough competition from Kvitova, Halep, Wozniacki, Kerber, Ivanovic, Radwanska and now Murguruza but when Serena retires Sharapova will feel a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. Nobody intimidates Sharapova except Serena. I'm certain Murguruza will win Wimbledon at some point as well as other Slams.
