We need a miracle for Norwich not to go down, bottom on Christmas day,
Burnley would stand a chance if they can win five of their remaining games depending on other results.
Watford still have to play Manchester City and Liverpool.
No doubt Norwich City, Burnley and Watford are doomed.

Might do Everton a world of good to have a season in the Championship, clearing out the deadwood, and other PL.sides looking for a bargain like Richarlison or Allan. Not sure Lampard is the right choice for.them either. Patrick Viera would be, though.

    Norwich are all but gone.
Burnley have only won 3 all season, can't see them picking up 5 in the last 10 games
Watford seem to be playing ok football but still not getting the results

Everton are playing **** and losing but I think they have just about done enough, combined with how bad the other 3 are still doing, to stay up.

    Which is a shame

As of now we've just.moved a week on with no real change here.

Brentford win but imo they were already safe
Leeds draw Which helps them a little bit they were already close to safe
    Everton loss -1gd
    Watford loss -2 gd
    Burnely loss -2 gd
Norwich drew but 1 point not much good now.

If burnely win twice in the week (everton and norwich) then everton need to beat man utd at home to avoid being in the bottom 3 come next monday.

Everton can in theory end all chat by winning 2 cos imo if they do then they are safe as burnely won't get 30 points imo.

    Burnley
Remaining games: Norwich City (A), West Ham (A), Wolves (H), Watford (A), Aston Villa (H), Tottenham (A), Newcastle (H). Date TBA: Aston Villa (A), Southampton (H)

    Everton
Remaining games: Man United (H), Liverpool (A), Chelsea (H), Leicester City (A), Brentford (H), Arsenal (A). Date TBA: Watford (H), Crystal Palace (H), Leicester (H)

I think this is now even closer but looks bloody tough now.

How many points would you give Everton from that lot? 6? 9? 3?

Burnley have Norwich, Watford, Newcastle, and tbh they look like they have a few options there.

Frankly they'd be lucky to get anything out of those games.
Watford would seem to be the best chance to get any points, so I'd say its likely out of their remaining games 3 points.

Burey actually have goals in them whereas Everton don't really, so I reckon Burnley are more likely to get the odd shock result than Everton as well.

the burnely win now starts to bring focus back onto the evil empire and leeds.

Brentford imo are all but safe and have the form going to get 40+ points. 1 more win imo. they even play watford so i can't see them now staying up. theres far too many worse sides.

Newcastle imo thought they were safe and slackened off a bit. The GD situation isn't good so they need a couple wins. Wolves (H), Leicester City (H), Norwich City (A), Liverpool (H), Man City (A), Arsenal (H), Burnley (A). Date TBA: Crystal Palace (H).
Thats not a straightforward list of games by any stretch. IMO they need to hockey norwich to feel safe and i would hope we cna beat them while they do us a favour or two. That have 4/5 worse sides than them still

Leeds have just been floundering along, a couple wins pushed them up Watford (A), Chelsea (H), Crystal Palace (A), Man City (H), Arsenal (A), Brighton (H), Brentford (A) I think they have enoug games to get out of it but they must win this weekend. I can still see them as in this so they must win this weekend.

We've discussed everton to death and burnely too.

It looks t me like this weekend is pivotal at the top of the table and at the bottom as losses for watford and norwich will most likely put the final nails in the coffins while leeds, newcastle and everton have games to get the further from trouble.

Burnely's ability to pick some points up will be worrying everyeon. those were a massive 3 points from a losing position last night that puts burnley in a place where 35 points is still possible.

    People are like

it might be a good reset for them when they go down, if they go down. Might do them the world of good.

Me, I think if they go down they won’t be coming straight back up. The Championship is very tough and I think there are clubs there that are smarter than Everton when it comes to dealing with that league.

about 3 seasons before they get their heads straight

Probably be the third place play off winners in 25/26 season under Brucie baby.

    the parachute payments are powerful?

But the issue for me is that they need heart and not bargain bucket signings like they gave benetiz. a lot will jump ship so who knows what lampard does in the championship without two big loanees like mount and wilson :)

    Looking at thier team:

Pickford will want out for the World cup
the defnese is rubbish as it stands but i assume they'll hold the holgates and kenny's and colemans of this world
The midfield is packed with under performers and guys who won't want to play there
Their two forwards will want to jump ship.

I couldn't really name an everton 11 for next season.

    Coleman
    Holgate
    Keane (nobody wants him)
    doucoure? (will anyone want him?)
    Gordan
    Iwobi??
    gray
    townsend?

They already spend well over 80% of their revenue on wages alone therefore if they go down they will probably be in the position of all their revenue just going on wages unless they manage to offload a bunch of players .

it really depends on clauses in contracts?

If everton don't have relegation clauses then they deserve what they get i suppose.

They will have to offload massively for sure.

well.... i say that but... I can't think who is going to want to poach those players? newcastle?

    Best everton players (IMO)

richarilson theres a few rumours about clubs but nothing hot.
Calvert lewin - rumoursed to be the next welbeck at arsenal
    ermmmmmm.....
Allan will be 32. unless he is let go free whos going to want him?
    dacoure will be 30
    gomes is not great
el ghazi is a disaster buy
    alli - unmitigated disaster buy
pickshite? who is n the market for an inferior keeper who's arms are too short?

I can see them having delph, iowbi, gray, townsend, rondon, tosun (is he still there??) gordon, coleman (too old) mylonenko, holgate, godfrey, keane

they really need to figure out a system of play as i see an awful lot of wingers etc but not a lot of midfield box to box grunt and a very leaky back line. if the forwards go and they can't score then they are in realy trouble again.

Think people like Allan will be allowed to leave for nowt if they can find a new home but they would need lots of them to go if on Championship money . Only Richarlison and possibly DCL would command big fees though DCL stock must have dropped after his showings this season .

How much are parachute payments these days?

Don't think it will go far for them though. They're £300mill in the hole for the last three years.

They won't be able to spend their parachute payments because they need to get back on the right side of the FFP law if they don't want to be docked points.

I know it doesn't count against them for FFL, but it's a shame that now of all time is when they're trying to build a stadium. That's expense they don't need.
