I am sorry Piskie but this is plain delusion. Didn't we have the worst start to a season in a century? Did we not lose 8-2 to man utd? Are we not in 5th place after losing 3 games in a row? Is RvP not the only player regularly scoring for us? These are facts, not something you can bury your head in the sand about. Last season we were challenging for the title, got to the final of the CC and managed to beat Barcelona. Are we able to do that with our current team? Arteta cannot even get in to the Spain squad that Fabregas is part of, and Nasri carried us through games at times last season, can you see Gervinho doing that for us? Your point of view is absurd, absolutely absurd.
Feel bad for Wilshere to be honest, he seems passionate about the club. You won't get Gotze this window, maybe next. Depends if you're willing to splash the cash a bit more then before.
Dortmund are trying to be a constant challenger to Bayern Munich at the moment so I doubt they will sell their most prized asset. Kagawa might leave though now they have bought Marco Reus.
Yeah he is the next big thing in Germany I hear. It a bit embarrassing how they are producing players like him and we are producing players like Henderson.
Henderson was a bad example mate! England are producing some greats, just look at Oxlade and Sturridge!
I dunno, Oxlade looks very promising but he has only started 1 premiership match and whilst Sturridge does also look very good I don't think he is in the class of Ozil or Goetze.
Oh definitely, but they're not that far behind in terms of potential! Don't get me wrong, Germany and Spain are streaks ahead in producing top class youth players in terms of quantity but England still have their fair share coming through the ranks. Ours are just ****ers
Given that Clichy, Fabregas and Nasri offered us very little last season, I would have to say that the players we have now are giving us more in those positions.
Santos isn't a donkey and already offers more than Clichy did, Arteta doesn't play the Fabregas role (I think we still need to replace him) Gervinho offers more that Nasri (he couldn't be bothered second half of last season) and Mertesacker has given us more options at CB. Fabregas and Nasri are top players, but their hearts just weren't in it last season, for that reason the players that have come in are offering more.
Why is it you pro Wenger people can't make a point without going to extremes ? Its pathetic. Nobody is saying spend like mad ! Nobody is saying OXO is a top player ! What they are saying is start him because he looks miles better as a winger than Walcott - which goes to show how crap our squad is
There are loads of players we should've gone for and bid too little or too late. So many players between £10m and £20m that would serve us well. At the time we were initially linked to Mata Chelsea hadn't shown interest but we didn't trigger his release clause with a £17m bid.
Are you Gazidis in disguise ? Are you Arsenal's PR man ? There is no possible way anybody of sane mind can say this years team is an improvement over last years. Deary me. The only improvement in this year's team is ..... .. .Gervinho for Arshavin.
Fabregas offered us very little ? In the 29 games he started he scored 9 goals and assisted with 14. In Nasri's 40 starts in all comps for us last season, he scored 16 goals and assisted with 4. But don't let the facts influence your comments PISKIE.
I'm sorry, but as good as Fabregas and Nasri are, for the 2nd half of last season they were largely passengers. As much as it pained us to see them leave, it's clear that Gervinho and Arteta are willing to offer more. That said, both are different types of players than their predecessors. I still think we need to replace Fabregas.
I thought that things were to change around here. Shouldn't you guys be attacking the message rather than insult the messenger? Just asking
As Hothead says, the facts speak for themselves. In fact its pretty damming that even when Fabregas and Nasri 'couldn't be bothered' that they were still better than Gervinho and Arteta have been.
