Nah mate. Doing the usual festivals but planning on missing out on going abroad this year and putting it towards something nicer next year...

You never know though, that could change!

You?

Not formerly booked anything buts mates trying arrange a trip to Croatia (Dubrovnik).

Its a 30th and he wants to get smashed for 3 days.

I must admit I'm a bit past that!

I want to look around and then have some beer in the evening.

I always think that's what I'll do on holiday but end up drinking beer with breakfast. Then just carry on...

Takes about 2 week's to recover.

Went to Tenerife last year and smashed the ****ing life out if it. Too much tbh.

Not sure how laddish Dubrovnik is, Budapest is a great location for those who want to combine extremely cheap beer with a beautiful city which has some amazing and somewhat thought provoking history.

Yes quite a few years ago , went tp the Canadian F1 GP .

Stayed in Toronto to start , then Montreal .

Loved Toronto , the CN Tower is a must see esp the bit of glass floor . Montreal nice , but I despise the locals .

If you go to Niagara falls , be sure to visit Niagara on the lake , it's the actual village , Niagara falls is like any resort .

If you can afford it / want to do it , Niagara falls by Helicopter is worth every penny IMHO .

When Mrs J & Me have retired , we are going to go go on this .

That train looks epic. One for the bucket list for sure.

I'm flying to Vancouver then off to Vancouver Island for 3 weeks, then gonna drive up into the Rockies and spend a few days in Whistler, before heading back to Vancouver.<ok>

Did one of those all inclusive holiday's last year, first time I'd ever been on a holiday like that. Reckon I must have put on 3-4kg in one week from all day drinking and eating. Nice for a week, but you'd end up being a right fat b'tard if that was your go to holiday choice.

Only ever done one of those once, about 15 years ago. ****ing hated it, marooned on some massive complex miles from anywhere watching people feeling the need to consume their own body weight in ale and pretty ropey food, making sure they got value for money lol.

Been to Budapest 3 times , Winter , Spring & Summer .

LOVE the place .

There's a few on our board who had never been , have been now , and all LOVED it .

Monument park , the old secret Police HQ ( could not bring my self to go in ) , just part of the history ...

Yeah that's why I'd want to go - to look around, culture, history etc. Food, birds.

I'll probably end up getting really pissed first day otherwise it would be poor form.

Then maybe peel off and have a look round.

Must have some laddish stuff I suppose as he choose the place I presume for that reason.

He's approaching 30 though and his mates are all in the thirties!

I've done Ibiza, Salou, Turkey and done all those strips and they're great when you're 18-26 but not after.

Got no time for them now.

Yeah agreed mate, boss place and lovely people in the main.

We did a guided tour of the castle area in Buda, I’d not realised the scale of the destruction and the heinous numbers of lives lost in the War there.

Yeah, wasn't my idea of a great holiday. The Hotel was pretty nice and had lush gardens and access to the beach, so it wasn't one of these mega complex jobbies. And I must admit that ice cold draught lager on tap all day was nice. But my idea of a holiday is getting off the beaten track and finding the hidden gems that most people either don't bother with or don't know are there.

Best meal I ever had on holiday was a lamb tagine cooked on open charcoals by my mate Khalid 9,000ft up in the high Atlas Mountains. <ok>

Not been that far up the Altas range lol, but did a day tour on quad bikes, which concluded with a meal in a Berber village that I’ll never forget.

I suppose those all inclusive holidays are sound if you’ve got young kids and you just want to chill for a week, but it drove us demented as a relatively young couple, as we don’t really do beach holidays either.

I think they are designed for young families and people who don't want to have to put any effort into seeking out where to eat, what to do and how to get there. Just jump on a plane and the coach takes you to the hotel, then everything is laid on within walking distance. A week of that was more than enough for me and it's not something I'd do again.

Glad to hear you've had some experience of the Atlas mountains and Berber life. I love Morocco and it's a country I've been to many times over the years. I usually go for surf, down near the Western Sahara Sidi Ifni and the remote fishing villages down there. But before the budget airlines started flying to Agadir, I used to fly to Marrakech and then drive down there, so we'd often take a rote up through the Atlas mountains. Some proper sketchy roads up there, but simply a staggeringly beautiful and wonderfully culturally rich part of the world.
